Social media has created several viral moments that have launched both celebrities and otherwise unassuming stars into the spotlight. Many influencers have earned a substantial amount of money off branded content and through sponsored posts. They have also been able to cross-platform themselves on a variety of other social media apps and sites which has helped with the longevity of their careers.

Other influencers have branched out further to become actors, musicians, and even famous comedians.

But TikTok stars have taken a path that diverges from the entertainment industry and runs head first into the world of finance. They have created production companies, started solid investments in both companies and cryptocurrency, and have joined several other celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres in creating unique brands and merchandise.

The decision to capitalize on their fame and create actual capital with their unique approach to branding has proven rewarding for several influencers, launching some to become millionaires at young ages.

The following is a list of several TikTok stars who have taken risks, made investments, and profited greatly from their decisions.

Josh Richards

Josh Richards first gained attention through TikTok when he joined the Sway House, a group of fellow influencers known for creating viral video content together. His following continuously grew throughout the process, eventually resulting in over 22 million followers on the app.

Then in 2020, he became a major player in the world of finance when he became a venture partner at Remus Capital, an early-stage Venture Capital firm that focused on innovative startups. The firm become one of the early investors behind the Gen Z-focused fitness app ClassPass.

In addition to his work with the firm, Richards also served as an angel investor and chief strategy officer for the app Triller, a video-based platform and rival of the TikTok app.

Bryce Hall

Bryce Hall is another TikTok star known for having been a member of the Sway House. He also took the financial path by investing in several start-ups including LendTable, Humaning, AON3D, and Stir. The companies all offer a variety of financial services. LendTree, for example, offers cash advancements that people can utilize to match their employer’s 401(k) contributions.

Hall also teamed up with fellow influencer Josh Richards to create the energy drink brand Ani Energy. This deal, combined with his own merchandise sales, have earned Dallas over $1 million in quarterly sales.

Hall hosts the podcast Capital University where he discusses additional financial decisions and provides advice for other young creators looking to get involved in the investment world. Some of his guests on the podcast have included financial experts such as Mark Cuban and Cameron Winklevoss.

Charli D'Amelio

Through a curated collection of dances featuring complex and addictive choreography, Charli D'Amelio gained world-wide acclaim by becoming TikToks most-followed star. Through her collaborations with several other stars such as Addison Rae and her sister Dixie, she continued to brand herself and increased her following to over 100 million on the app.

She has collaborated with a wide range of companies and brands including Pura Vida where she launched her own line of unique bracelets and Morphe 2 where she joined her sister in creating a line of makeup and skincare products. Recently, she even teamed up with the Dunkin Donuts brand to create her own unique beverage The Charli Cold Foam.

Her financial decisions and ever-increasing popularity resulted in J.Lo branding her the biggest teenage star of 2020.

D'Amelio has also ventured into the world of finance by becoming an early angel investor for the company Step, a banking app that helps teens by providing them with an FDIC-insured bank account along with a no-fee, debit-style card. Her decision to invest in Step resulted in the company raising over $50 million in Series B funding.

Noah Beck

After joining TikTok in 2020, Beck quickly rose to fame by becoming one of 2020's top breakout creators.

He quickly cross-platformed by creating a show for the digital platform AwesomenessTV titled "Noah Beck Tries Things".

He then joined several fellow Sway House members on their decision to invest in the trend-setting brand Sillybandz. As an investor, Beck and fellow Sway House members now own 30% of the company.

Addison Rae

Known for being TikToks second most popular creator, Addison Rae has already started her transition from the platform. In 2020, she earned representation from the talent agency WME and was cast in the upcoming remake of the teen comedy film She's All That. She has also ventured into the world of podcasting, announcing a Spotify exclusive podcast that will be co-hosted with her mom titles Mama Knows Best.

Known for being a part of the TikTok collective the Hype House, her following landed her several brand deals and endorsements including with American Eagle, L'Oreal, and Hollister. 

Her decision to join other TikTok stars in the investment world began in 2020 when she founded her own makeup brand Item Beauty. She serves as co-founder as well as Chief Innovation Officer for the brand which sells a variety of brushes, eye shadow, and bronzers.
