Danny Fujikawa and Kate Hudson are officially engaged! The long-time partners revealed the news on social media earlier this week.

Posting to her Instagram account, which has 14 million followers, Kate uploaded a photo of herself and Danny embracing. Her hand was resting on his chest, and her followers couldn’t help but notice the sparkly engagement ring on her finger. “Let’s go,” Kate wrote in the caption, followed by a series of wedding-themed emojis.

Based on the comments from some of Kate’s friends, it appears the engagement may have taken place a while ago.

“Not gonna lie, it’s been a hard secret to keep,” Sara Foster wrote. “I may have slipped and told a few people,” she added with a heart emoji.

Actresses Sara and Erin Foster, who are the daughters of legendary musician David Foster, are stepsiblings with Danny. Kate, who has been long-time friends with Sara and Erin, was originally introduced to Danny through them. “Finally, we are officially sisters!!!” Erin commented on Kate’s post.

So far, Danny hasn’t commented on the engagement on his own social media channels. But the musician hasn’t made a post since July 2020.

Danny and Kate were first romantically linked in late December 2016. They welcomed a daughter, Rani Rose, in October 2018 after announcing Kate’s pregnancy the previous April.

Following their daughter’s arrival, Kate turned to Instagram to explain the special meaning behind Rani’s name. “We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa,” she wrote in reference to Danny’s late father. Kate added that it was an “honor” to give her daughter a name with such an important family connection.

Neither Danny nor Kate have revealed many details about their engagement or plans for a wedding so far. But the actress did show off her diamond ring when she attended the Met Gala only hours after announcing their engagement.

Kate was dressed in head-to-toe pink for the event, which she attended wearing a sequin  bra and matching skirt. The mother-of-three paired her outfit with jewelry from Lorraine Schwartz that complimented her sparkling engagement ring. As of now, it’s unclear who designed her ring or how much it’s valued.

This will be the second marriage for Kate. She was previously married to Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson from 2000 to 2006, and the couple shares a son, 17-year-old Ryder. Kate also has a 10-year old son, Bingham, from her relationship with Muse singer Matt Bellamy.
