Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that she received a $25 million salary for doing the dark comedy-themed movie, which was $5 million less than what Leonardo DiCaprio received. However, she compromised with top billing on the project in lieu of the salary difference.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Jennifer Lawrence shared her thought about the salary difference between her and co-star DiCaprio. She thinks that it is only fair that DiCaprio will receive a higher salary considering he's been in the industry longer than her, and he brings in more box office. Despite being number one on the call sheet, she's fine with the salary difference; however, she stated that she fought for the top billing. She made sure that she got the top spot in the credits, and DiCaprio was cool with everything to not challenge her demand. She stated that she learned about the pay difference through the media as well, telling the reporters that she did see that too when asked about the news regarding the differing salaries.

The actress is known to be outspoken in terms of pay discrepancy in Hollywood, and she's not really afraid of demanding the salary for what she's worth. However, in this instance, she is extremely happy and fortunate with the deal she got considering she also got to work with DiCaprio. She added that it is awkward and very uncomfortable to ask about equal pay, so she tries not to be bothered by it at all. She said that if someone inquires about pay disparity, the producers will tell you that gender has nothing to do with it, but once you ask about what exactly made the pay difference, they would not tell you what exactly the reason is.

The movie is about climate change with dark-themed comedy, which was directed by the Oscar-winning director Adam McKay for Netflix. The movie features one of the most star-studded movies, aside from Lawrence and DiCaprio, the movie also stars Jonah Hill, Timothee Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Mark Rylance, Chris Evans, Cate Blanchett, Scott Mescudi, Rob Morgan, and Meryl Streep. Don't Look Up will be playing in theaters on a limited theatrical release starting December 10, and it will be released worldwide on December 24 via Netflix.
