Miles Teller was born in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, on February 20, 1987. Though he was born in Pennsylvania, he spent some of his childhood years in Florida and New Jersey as well. His father, Michael, works as a nuclear power plant engineer, while his mother, Merry, works as a real estate agent. At an early age, Miles has already shown interest in performing arts. Growing up, he played alto saxophone as a member of a rock band at the Lecanto High School. He also played drums as a member of a youth group for church and was a president of a drama club. In addition, he also played guitar and piano and was also part of a baseball team in the hopes of becoming a professional baseball player someday.

While he was still in High School, Miles had already learned how to become responsible when he worked as a server at a local restaurant named Crackers just so he could earn extra cash. At an early age, he was already performing in front of an audience, he once starred in their school production of Footloose, and he then later appeared on the remake of the said film in 2011.
