T.V. personality Guy Fieri has something big cooking up his sleeve, and from the sounds of it, it’s going to make a big difference in the lives of small business owners.

The American restaurateur stopped by TMZ Live earlier this week to speak about his new Guy’s Restaurant Reboot, which is a live stream special scheduled for June 12th at 7pm. The reality star will be streaming across all of his social media channels in order to celebrate local restaurants across the United States.

In order to help him put on the virtual celebration, Guy has enlisted the help of several famous faces and multinational companies. Both Pepsi and Lending Tree, an online lending marketplace, have teamed up with the celebrity chef to support the event. Football star Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski and former basketball player Shaquille O’Neal will be assisting Guy in visiting local restaurants in their neighbourhood. Shaq will spend time at Park Tavern in Atlanta, while Gronk will reportedly be at Tres Amigos Cantina in Tampa Bay.

There will also be special musical guests at the event, as Diplo and Old Dominion will reportedly provide musical entertainment during the livestream.

The virtual special is a part of Guy’s efforts to promote local restaurants and businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic. Many local companies have had to close their doors or reduce their staff amid unpredictable coronavirus restrictions. But while speaking to TMZ, Guy says he hopes to see the restaurant industry begin turning around now that COVID-19 vaccine rates are rising (and infection rates are subsequently decreasing). In fact, Guy plans to donate $300,000 during the event to various restaurants and entrepreneurs to give them a helping hand.

This is hardly the first time Guy has stepped up to help those affected by the pandemic. Last year, TMZ reported that he raised upwards of $20 million in two months with the help of the National restaurant Association Educational Foundation. The funds were put towards creating a Restaurant Employee Relief Fund. This allowed them to give out more than 40,000 grants to people facing difficulties because of the pandemic, valued at $500 each.

Earlier this month, Guy reportedly signed an $80 million three-year deal with the Food Network. This is reportedly $50 million higher than his last contract. According to PEOPLE Magazine, the restaurant-owner celebrated by purchasing a new home in West Palm Beach, Florida to celebrate the career milestone.

Viewers can watch Guy’s Restaurant Reboot on June 12th at 7PM ET. It'll be available to stream across Guy’s social media channels as well as on guysrestaurantreboot.com.
