GoFundMe has removed a fundraiser that was started to help Amber Heard pay the $10 million in damages she owes to her ex-husband Johnny Depp following the conclusion of his defamation lawsuit against her.

According to TMZ, the campaign criticized the outcome of the case and referred to itself as “Justice for Amber Heard.”

It was created by someone identified as Kimberly Moore only days after the jury gave their verdict. The page said that Kimberly has been in direct contact with the actress’ legal team to transfer the funds.

"The trial was a disgrace. I believe Amber, and social media protected the abuser,” the fundraiser’s description stated. “The judgment exceeds her net worth. It's so sad that he was able to get away with the abuse. The judgment furthers that abuse. If you can please help her."

However, GoFundMe has since confirmed in a statement they removed the fundraiser after determining it wasn’t legitimate.

A representative said that GoFundMe will "remove any fundraisers unless there's a direct connection and the fundraiser has been authorized by the recipient of the funds." They added, "[Our] top priority is to keep our community safe and protect the generosity of our donors."

Earlier this week, the jury determined that Amber defamed her ex-husband in three separate statements during her 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post. They awarded Johnny $10 million in compensatory damages as well as $5 million in punitive damages.

Due to a Virginia rule capping punitive damages, Amber will only have to pay $10.35 million.

The Aquaman actress was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages for her countersuit in which she claimed Johnny’s attorney defamed her by stating her abuse allegations were a “hoax.”

However, since the trial concluded, Amber’s has stated she cannot afford the multi-million dollar bill.

Amber’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft made an appearance on NBC’s Today last Thursday in which she was asked whether her client could afford the judgement, to which she responded, “Oh no, absolutely not.

She continued, “One of the first things that she said is, ‘I am so sorry to all those women out there; this is a setback for all women in and outside of the courtroom.

Amber’s team has confirmed their decision to appeal the ruling, with the actress describing it as a setback for women and survivors of abuse.

Johnny has expressed satisfaction with the ruling since the jury gave their verdict. He’s also announced a new project – a joint album with Jeff Beck, to be released in July. Johnny and Jeff are currently touring in Europe together at the moment.
