Emmanuel Acho didn’t wait around for his friends and family to shower him with expensive gifts on his birthday, he did it himself. The former NFL linebacker and The Bachelor host celebrated turning 31st years old by gifting himself a lavish $6 million mansion in Hollywood Hills.

TMZ is reporting that the ex-Philadelphia Eagles player scooped up the property for $6,325,000 and even opted to buy the vacant 10,156-square-foot lot next to it as well.

Well, what does $6 million get you in the affluent Hollywood Hills neighborhood?

The athlete now owns a stunning modern mansion just moments from the iconic Sunset Strip. The luxurious hillside estate features ceiling to floor windows with breathtaking views of the Los Angeles skyline. The three-story home features a minimalist design, with a white exterior paired with earthy tones both inside and out.

For a better view of the LA skyline, the former athlete can step out onto his balcony or an elevated terrace that overlooks the wood-paneled sitting area near a private pool surrounded by greenery.

The gorgeous 5,900 square foot estate features four bedrooms and five bathrooms along with a primary bed suite and a large closet. The spacious kitchen is said to be decked out with state-of-the-art appliances.

The open floor plan and large windows allow natural light to shine into the main sitting area which seamlessly blends into a large modern dining room. A second adjacent sitting area features a pool table.

Acho seemed pretty content with his purchase, posting on from his new home last month: "I didn't know what to do for my birthday... #NewHomeOwner #LosAngeles."

Although Acho retired from football in 2015, he has managed to create new streams of income to help pay for the estate. He hosts a popular weekly activist webcast Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man, which has earned him a Primetime Emmy award. The former athlete also hosted the 25th season of The Bachelor: After the Final Rose Special.

Brooke A. Elliott of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass represented the seller, and Kennon Earl of Rare Properties at Compass represented Acho. The former athlete likely needed a mortgage for the property, as his net worth is estimated to be approximately $1.2 million.
