Celebrity divorces are known to be expensive, but Dr. Dre's current situation is extraordinary. Dr. Dre and his wife, Nicole Young have been married for 24 years. They have been through many of life's ups and downs together, and at this current time, it's safe to say they're on the down-swing. When their marriage began to dissolve, and they filed for divorce, many aspects of their financials had already been sorted out, but the two were not able to come to an agreement regarding the amount of money allocated to spousal support. Young and Dr. Dre have been dragged through the media as they struggle to see eye to eye on this aspect of their divorce settlement. VladTV had just reported that a temporary agreement has just been reached in this matter, and it's sure to shock you. Dr. Dre has been ordered to pay Nicole Young $300,000 per month, totaling $3.5 million, annually.
Music mogul and legendary producer Dr. Dre has a current net worth estimated at $820 million, making him the third richest rapper in the world. It comes as no surprise that finances are a point of contention in a marriage that is deep rooted in emotion and spanned over the course of 24 years.
However, it's not often that settlements of this denomination are reported.
Nicole Young has been pushing the issue of spousal support for many months now, and has reportedly been requesting $2 million per month to satisfy her needs, and maintain the lifestyle she is accustomed to living.
Dr. Dre, understandably, has pushed back on this astronomical calculation, and is challenging her request, in an effort to scale back the payments he is to issue to his ex-wife.
The matter has been ongoing for quite some time now, and a temporary agreement has been put in place until a more permanent resolution can be found. After suffering from a brain aneurysm earlier this year, Dr.Dre issued a $2 million lumpsum payment to Young, and is now on the hook to give her much more.
Court records reveal that Dr. Dre has now been ordered to pay his ex-wife a total of $293,306.00 a month, coming in just shy of $3.5 million annually, until they find a more permanent solution, and he just has just over a week to settle in to this new routine. The first payment is due on August 1st, 2021, wit subsequent payments also landing on the 1st of each month.
Vlad TV reports that additional terms have also been implemented, including the continuation of this payment “until the party receiving support remarries or enters into a new domestic partnership, death of either party.” Nicole will also maintain the same health insurance plan as she did when she and Dre were married."
Dr. Dre has also been ordered to continue making payments on their Malibu and Pacific Palisades homes.
