Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer are no long airing their dirty laundry out on Teen Mom, but the couple still have a lot going on in their personal lives. The reality stars recently made headlines for refusing to settle a $4 million lawsuit filed by their former consulting company.

The couple were originally sued by Envy, a consulting and management company, in 2020 for allegedly withholding profits made from social media collaborations. Envy says the DeBoers encouraged clients to pay them directly to avoid giving the company their share.

Cole and Chelsea subsequently filed a countersuit denying the claims. They also allege that Envy withheld $155,000 in profits.

Envy was originally seeking $3 million from the couple, but they made an amendment in 2020 to increase it to $4 million. The lawsuit now names many of the couple’s other businesses, including Down Home DeBoer, Aubree Says, Dakota Ln LLC and DeBoer Holding Company.

Envy had been working with Chelsea since 2015, while Cole signed with them in 2016. Nearly three years later, both sides have only recently completed discovery, where they provided all evidence and witness testimonies. Neither Envy nor the DeBoers agreed to settle, so the case will go to court.

The case will have a pre-motion conference in new York on April 11, but it’s unclear if Chelsea and Cole need to come from out-of-state to attend.

Cole and Chelsea’s social media collaborations may have suffered in the wake of their drama with Envy, one thing that hasn’t taken a nosedive is their reality television careers. Chelsea announced in 2020 she was leaving Teen Mom 2 after over a decade on the MTV show. In her explanation, she said she wanted to offer her kids more privacy now that they’re older.

But it wasn’t long until Chelsea and Cole signed on to create a show with HGTV about their love for home renovations and decoration. The much-anticipate Down Home Fab debuted this past January to a positive reception.

We can’t wait to take our fans along this next crazy journey of building our business from the ground up — with four kids in tow — showing all of the highs and lows on the renovation site and at home,” Chelsea wrote online in 2022 when she announced the series.

It's unclear how much the couple are making form the new show, but Chelsea had a million-dollar salary during her time with the Teen Mom franchise, so it’s likely they could be raking in six figures a season for their new show, too.
