We all know that the paychecks actors, actresses and models receive from booking movies and modeling gigs can be quite hefty (think Emma Stone made $26 million for her role in La La Land while Will Smith brought in $100 million for Men In Black 3).

While these paychecks are obviously more than sufficient for practically every lifestyle one could dream about, not all celebrities stop there. Many branch out and go on to to create incredibly successful non-Hollywood related businesses. And some have made a killing doing so.

Jessica Alba

Back in the day, Jessica Alba was a fan favorite Hollywood actress. But over the last bunch of years, she's somewhat stepped away from acting and is now well known for The Honest Company, a wellness brand that she founded in 2012 that sells safe and environmentally friendly products for everyday use such as household cleaning products, baby products and body care products. The company went public in May 2021 at which point CNBC estimated it to be valued at $1.44 billion. That means that Jessica herself probably took in about $100 million for going public, as reported by Forbes.

Ryan Reynolds

He's taken a hold of our hearts time and time again with his roles in movies like The Proposal and Definitely, Maybe (not to mention his completely swoon worthy statements about fatherhood and his wife, Blake Lively) and now he's on the way to taking a hold of the liquor shelves. Aviation American Gin was founded in 2006 and Ryan Reynolds bought a share in 2018 before becoming an official co-owner of the brand. Once Ryan became attached to Aviation, it became the United States' second-largest brand within the super-premium gin segment, according to Food & Wine. In August 2020, Diageo, the owner of Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff and Tanqueray to name a few, bought Aviation American Gin for $610 million, as reported by Food & Wine. So it's safe to say that Ryan wins over his leading ladies and wins the gin market.

Gwyneth Paltrow

If you know about Gwyneth Paltrow you know about her lifestyle brand Goop. Goop was originally an electronic newsletter that started in 2008. Now it's an incredibly popular website where you can shop, get recipes and learn all about health and wellness. The brand now even has four different store fronts that you can find in Los Angeles, Montecito, Sag Harbor, and Mauna Lani, plus it has a documentary deal with Netflix. According to Worth, Goop is now a $250 million company.

Rihanna

It seems like there is little Rihanna can't do, including launch and run a successful cosmetics brand. According to it's website, Rihanna founded her company, Fenty Beauty, "so that people everywhere would be included". The makeup's goal is to match skin tones that are traditionally more challenging to match. According to Forbes, Fenty hit $100 million in sales just within it's first few weeks on the market. And the success didn't stop there. It's estimated that the company made $570 million in 2018 - and that was after only being on the market for 15 months! Forbes reported that the company is now worth more than $3 billion. Rihanna's investment in the world of cosmetics helped her gain the title of 'wealthiest female musician in the world'. Forbes estimates that she has a net worth of $600 million. Take a bow, Rihanna, take a bow.

Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher may not have played the brightest character on That 70's Show, but he has certainly made some incredibly smart investments in real life. According to Money Inc, Ashton has been a long time investor in Skype, which was sold to Microsoft in 2011 for $8.6 billion. He is also an investor in popular companies such as Uber, Airbnb, Foursquare and Spotify. Ashton is hands on in the startup world too. He's been involved on the management and creative sides at Ooma and Katalyst Media and he helped develop the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro at Lenovo. According to Business Insider, Ashton has been able to take a $30 million fund and turn it into $250 million through all his investments. Go, Kelso, go.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Many people know Dwayne Johnson as "The Rock" from the wrestling world. Less know him as a tequila connoisseur, but that certainly seems to be where he's headed. Dwayne launched Teremana Tequila in 2020 and, soon after it's launch, the company was celebrating a milestone - it had one of the biggest debuts a new brand has ever had, as reported by Shanken News Daily. As of December 2020, Teremana was expected to ship more than 400,000 cases within the first year of its launch, which, as Dwayne pointed out on his Instagram, was more than what George Clooney sold his Casamigos Tequila for (according to Fox Business he sold to Diageo at $175,000 cases).
