Famous rapper and meme-food entrepreneur Eminem is due to open a new restaurant dubbed Mom’s Spaghetti in Detroit next week. The rapper teased the launch of his eatery with a new ad, behind the restaurant there will be a merch annex called “The Trailer,” which is described as “a store for Stans.”

The name for the planned restaurant, of course, comes from the unforgettable opening lines of Eminem’s grammy-winning song “Lose Yourself” where he quips “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There’s vomit on his sweater already, mom’s spaghetti.”

According to Fader, this isn’t the first time Eminem has floated the idea of the restaurant. Previously the idea appeared as a pop-up back in 2017 in the lead-up to his album Revival. The rapper also delivered meals to 400 Detroit hospital workers under the Mom’s Spaghetti branding in Spring of 2020 to thank them for their hard work during the pandemic.

A commercial for the eatery began airing locally on Friday. In it, the rapper towers over the Detroit skyline and spits out a Mom’s Spaghetti takeout carton, while at the very end of the clip he returns, ostensibly with two middle fingers up. For the curious, a number is displayed during the ad which provides more information, including details on the overly simple menu. Moms Spaghetti will serve spaghetti with or without meatballs as well as a s’ghetti sandwich.

The Detroit News reports that Mom’s Spaghetti comes as a collaboration between Eminem and Metro Detroit restaurant group Union Joints. The two had worked together in Eminem’s previous pop-up restaurant.

There is also speculation that the opening of Moms Spaghetti could also serve as a promotion for Eminem's purportedly upcoming album. Rumors have been floating around that Eminem may be dropping his new album, The Marshall Mathers LP III next week.

The restaurant will open its doors at 5 p.m. on September 29 in downtown Detroit. Attached to the eatery is a shop called "The Trailer" that's billed as "a store for Stans" another reference to a signature Eminem song, "Stan," which has become a slang term for enthusiastic fans. The restaurant is reportedly the result of a partnership with the local restaurant group Union Joints.
