Black Panther is one MCU's most successful titles after it was released in 2018. It was the first superhero movie with an all-black cast, changing the course of black history. Since the movie made such a big hit, Marvel Studios confirmed a sequel under development in 2019. But things have changed when the Black Panther star, beloved actor Chadwick Boseman passed away in August 2020 from a terminal illness.
Instead of recasting the character of the deceased cast member, Marvel decided to change the course of the film and reschedule the development of the movie's sequel by that November. And they announced the final title of the film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on May 2021 and the film is set to release on November 11, 2022.
With an all-star group with a majority of black talents, including the production staff behind the camera, the film celebrates and acknowledges everything from traditional African society to African-American political debates.
