Bill Cosby’s prison sentence may have been vacated in 2021, but the disgraced actor is continuing to face legal problems connected to the variety of sexual assault allegations levied against him. Most recently, the Emmy winner was named in a lawsuit over an assault that happened more than 40 years ago.
According to reports, Stacey Pinkerton has launched a civil case against Bill. She claims that he drugged her at a restaurant in Chicago, Illinois when she was 21-years old in 1986.
Stacey, a flight attendant, alleges that Bill then took her back to his hotel room, and proceeded to violate her. Court documents reveal she says he "engaged in forced sexual intercourse.”
She alleges he proceeded to assault her again months later after he invited her to his show at a Chicago theatre, where she says he kissed and touched her against her will.
"Cosby engaged in the same or similar pattern of conduct with his victims," court documents argue. Iincluding expressing interest in advancing their careers, giving them roles on 'The Cosby Show,' using 'The Cosby Show' and its filming locations as a means to access, isolate, sexually harass, and sexually assault women, using drugs to incapacitate his victims, and forcibly engaging in sexual acts with them without their consent."
Stacey says she originally met Bill in New York and befriended him after he promised to help with her career. He got her a small part on his The Cosby Show, which as ultimately cut from production.
It's unclear how much in damages Stacey is hoping to win from the lawsuit.
Despite dozens of other women coming forward with similar allegations in recent years, Bill’s spokesperson denied Stacey’s allegations made in the recent lawsuit.
“Continues to vehemently deny all allegations waged against him and looks forward to defending himself in court,” his rep said.
"As we have always stated, and now America can see, this isn’t about justice for victims of alleged sexual assault, it’s ALL ABOUT MONEY," he continued "We believe that the courts, as well as the court of public opinion, will follow the rules of law and relieve Mr. Cosby of these alleged accusations."
This is hardly the first lawsuit Bill has faced in connection to sexual assault allegations. In December, five women launched a lawsuit against the actor as well as NBC Universal. They hope to receive monetary compensation for what they claim the actor put them through.
Similarly, a jury awarded a woman $500,000 after she accused Bill of assaulting her at the Playboy mansion in 1975 when she was a teenager.
