The Obamas have taken a bold step in a new direction, declaring the launch of their very own television series. Their show is called We The People, and will launch as a Netflix exclusive on July 4th. The concept behind their project is to educate youth on civics, and the semantics of the United States Government, by making it fun, interesting, and interactive. VT reports they've identified that government processes are not taught to children in an engaging manner, and they're making an effort to bridge this gap. Barack and Michelle Obama will be pulling all the stops, by engaging a slew of celebrities and delivering their message using animation and musical elements.

Barack and Michelle Obama know a thing or two about politics, and they're eager to share their knowledge with the younger generation. Their goal is to educate the younger generation about the political processes in the United States of America, in an entertaining, age-appropriate manner.

Barack Tweeted about the launch of the show on June 4th, engaging his audience by letting them know they have secured major talent for their series. He wants kids in America to know that learning about politics can be fun, and that their voices make a difference.

There will be 10 episodes for viewers to enjoy, and the Obamas are promising that this will be a refreshingly new perspective on how political education is delivered.

VT reports on some of the celebrities that are involved in this project, including the likes of; "Bebe Rexha, Janelle, Adam Lambert, Monáe, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton cast member Daveed Diggs, singer Brittany Howard, Frozen's Robert and Kristine Anderson-Lopez, singer H.E.R, and poet Amanda Gorman."

The series will put focus on important issues to the table, inclusive of women's suffrage, activism, immigration, and the the different levels of government, and aims to get kids well versed in their understanding of how the taxation system works. They will be taught the importance of free speech, and will discover the various ways that the inner workings of politics affect their daily lives.

Entertainment Weekly refers to the series as "an exuberant call to action for everyone to rethink civics as a living, breathing thing and to reframe their understanding of what government and citizenship mean in a modern world."

We The People will be presented as music videos that are bright, fun, high-energy, and packed full with information, and the hope is that children will connect with these important topics in a refreshingly new way.
