Jolie started acting when she was just 5 years old. She made a cameo in her dad Jon Voight’s 1982 movie, Lookin’ To Get Out. A year later, she moved to New York with her mom and her mom’s live-in boyfriend.

After five years of soul searching, the actress returned to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career permanently.

In 1993, Jolie starred in Cyborg 2 and just two years later, she starred in Hackers. However, it was her role in HBO’s 1997 film, Gia.

The mom of six received a slew of recognition such as three Golden Globe nominations, an Academy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role in Girl, Interrupted.

Pitt’s ex-wife also headlined the Lara Croft franchise, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Jolie also lent her voice for features like Shark Tale and animated movies like Kung Fu Panda.

Over the years, Jolie has also directed and produced a slew of movies. And all these projects helped her amass her $120 net worth.

More specifically, the actress reportedly earned $19 million for The Tourist, $20 million for Salt, $15 million for Wanted, $10 million for Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and $7 million for the first Lara Croft movie, and $12 million for the sequel.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, the Maleficent actress also earns a hefty sum from her endorsements and appearances. She is currently a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. Jolie also modeled for St. John from 2005 to 2010, and she also modeled for Louis Vuitton in 2011.

Following the release of Maleficent, MAC cosmetics launched a makeup range inspired by the Disney movie. Jolie also served as the model for these campaigns.

Financial struggles

Despite her huge income, Jolie claimed to be struggling financially two years after her divorce from Pitt. She also demanded the actor give her more financial support.

So, the Ad Astra actor heard his ex-wife’s demands and Pitt gave Jolie $8 million upfront as a down payment for her $25 million Cecil B. Demille mansion. However, reports revealed that Jolie stripped off cash to cover the other costs of her home.

Celebrity Net Worth pointed out that while Jolie has millions, it seems that her money is locked up in her trust funds and investment.

Jennifer Aniston career, net worth

Aniston, on the other hand, joined the world of show business much later than Jolie. In fact, her breakout role was in Friends from 1994 to 2004, where she portrayed Rachel Green.

Towards the end of Friends, Aniston and her co-stars were earning $1 million per episode. The sitcom was such a huge hit that a reunion special is currently in the works.

Reports revealed that Aniston will be receiving no less than $2.5 million for one reunion episode. And her co-stars will also be getting the same amount.

Thanks to Friends, Aniston is earning $25 to $30 million per year from reruns, movies, endorsements, and other projects.

Like Jolie, Aniston has starred in several movies throughout the span of her career. Some of her biggest projects include Along Came Polly, Bruce Almighty, The Good Girl, and more.

In 2011, Pitt’s other ex-wife brought home her biggest paycheck after starring in Just Go With It. Aniston earned $10 million from the project.

Most recently, Aniston was also cast as the lead star of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the actress earns $1.5 million per episode.

The verdict

So, even though Jolie has been in the industry for a longer period of time, it’s safe to say that Aniston has a higher net worth. The latter’s income is estimated at $300 million.

It is also important to note that part of Jolie’s money goes to her lawyers who are helping her with her ongoing custody battle against Pitt.

During her interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jolie also revealed that she had to cut back on her acting jobs and directorial work post-divorce. After all, she had to tend to her six children as a single mom.

“I needed to just do shorter jobs and be home more, so I kind of went back to doing a few acting jobs. That’s really the truth of it,” she said.
