Lizzo spared no expense for her mother’s birthday this year, as the singer reportedly spoiled her with a brand-new wardrobe for the occasion.

Posting to her Instagram account, which has 11.5 million followers, Lizzo shared a video of her mother receiving the new duds. The clip shows her mom, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, walking into a closet filled with an assortment of colorful clothes. “Wow! It looks nice in here, huh?” Lizzo can be heard from behind the camera.

“You like these clothes?” Lizzo continued. Her mother continues looking around the room, while the musician adds, “These are your clothes!” To that, her mother looks overwhelmed and begins tearing up when she realizes her daughter’s generous gift.

The rest of the clip shows Shari looking through the new clothes and accessories, and even trying on a new outfit.

In the caption, Lizzo explains that her mother had previously said it was “hard to dress nice for yourself” […] “ever since daddy passed.”

“I know I can’t bring [your] best friend back … but I still wanna give you the world,” she continued, adding, “Mommy, I love you.”

Lizzo also tagged Jason Rembert’s Instagram account in the post. According to PEOPLE Magazine, the celebrity stylist specially curated the selection of clothes for Lizzo’s mom.

Earlier this year, in March, Lizzo commemorated the 12-year anniversary of her father’s death in a touching Instagram post. She shared an image of herself, her mother, and her father riding The Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls from her childhood. Lizzo accompanied the post with a long caption dedicated to her late father.

“I'd say you wouldn't believe it—but you knew what I would achieve even back when I couldn't," she wrote of her accomplishments.

This isn’t the first time Lizzo – who has a net worth of approximately $10 million – has spoiled her mother. Last December, the singer revealed she gifted her mother an Audi for Christmas. She shared a video of her mother with the new ride to Instagram. The clip showed Shari being brought to tears when she saw her daughter’s gift.

In the caption, Lizzo reflected on the hardships her family has gone through, including a time when she was homeless and jobless following her father’s death. “I couldn’t do it for my dad so [I’m going to] make sure I spoil mama,” she finished the post with.

Lizzo’s father passed in 2009 while the future celebrity was studying at the University of Houston. She subsequently withdrew shortly after his passing but continued to pursue music. Since then, she’s won three Grammy Awards and has developed an impressive discography.
