50 Shades Author E.L.James is Third Highest Earning Celebrity

The author E.L. James, who captivated everyone with the erotic love story of Christian Grey and Anastasia, was named third highest-earning celebrity by Forbes.

With a fortune of $95 million, E.L. James shared the third spot with celebrity judge and music producer Simon Cowell and disc jockey Howard Stern.

Madonna topped the list with $125 million while film director Steven Spielberg placed second with $100 million.

James is the author of the sensational book 50 Shades of Grey, which tells a love story of the student, Anastasia, who came across Seattle’s richest bachelor, Christian Grey. The encounter later on leads to a series of sexual encounters with the use of sex toys, lingerie, 50-shades inspired workouts, sadism/masochism, and dominance/submission.  James then has set the trend for a Mummy Porn literary genre.

Now, the book is set to hit the big screen after the major characters were finally chosen and announced recently. Dakota Johnson is set to play the role of the innocent Anastasia Steele while Charlie Hunnam will take the role of the rich business magnate Christian Grey.

Moreover, the writer also topped Forbes’ list of highest-earning authors, beating big names such as JK Rowling, Stephen King and Danielle Steel.

Other authors who were included on the list were James Patterson with $91 million and The Hunger Games writer Suzanne Collins who earned $55 million.
