Have you ever heard a movie title and thought to yourself that there is just no way you heard that right? There are just times when the words sound way too inappropriate to be accurate. It makes no sense for certain words to be strung together in the context of a mainstream movie title. Aren't there dozens of people who have to give approval for things like this? I'm sure that a lot of movies have focus groups to run these kind of decisions by, so it's weird as hell when a seemingly innocent movie has a name that is better suited for an adult flick.
There are a lot of times when I heard movie titles and had to hit rewind on the remote or do a quick Google search because some of these just do not make any sense. Well, I guess they do make sense, but they just seem like such obvious adult-related titles that I don't believe they were chosen. Sometimes, I feel like these movies have names that seem more adult than they are to be provocative and get a response. Other times, it just seems like a careless mistake and I question what everyone was thinking when they were making these decisions.
From the movie titles that are intentionally suggestive to the flicks that seem to be accidentally alluding to sexuality, there are actually a lot of movies with names that are better suited for adult entertainment.
These are fifteen famous movie titles that are more suited for men's favorite industry.
14 14. In Too Deep
I can't even believe that In Too Deep is the name of an actual movie with a plot and actual actors. Everything about it is just super reminiscent of men's favorite industry. In Too Deep would make complete sense as the title for some adult entertainment movie. I would not be super surprised if there was an adult-themed movie with this name before the actual movie existed - no parody needed with this one. And I'm sure there are lots of titles that pair other words with the words "in too deep." The title In Too Deep is very well suited for some explicit entertainment.
13 Black Snake Moan
The movie Black Snake Moan has a super sexual title. And it's not like I'm really too off base with my interpretation of that one. The plot revolves around Samuel L. Jackson's character trying to cure a woman, played by Christina Ricci, from her nymphomania by chaining her up to the radiator to keep her from running away and sexing it up. Plus, Justin Timberlake is a part of the film and everything about him just oozes sex, so I am not really far off when I interpret the name of the movie to be pretty sexual. Black Snake Moan would definitely be well-suited to be the name of something in adult entertainment.
12 Get Hard
This is a movie starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart, so you know that the sexual undertones of the title were definitely not accidental and it was intended to be humorous. It doesn't get any more sexual than the words "get hard." I cannot help chuckle like a teenage student in sex-ed class whenever the title is mentioned. I just cannot take those words seriously as a title for a mainstream flick. The movie is about a millionaire who gets to sentenced to prison and turns to another dude to help him train and prep for the prison life; but whatever, Get Hard sounds like the name for something that's meant for the adult entertainment industry.
Octopussy is one of those words that I cannot say or read with a straight face. It has the word "pussy" in it so that definitely is applicable to something adult themed. Either way, I will never get over the fact that this is the name of a James Bond movie that played in theaters, still airs on TV, and still comes up in casual conversation. It is a made up word, but it would be an intriguing name for something a little bit raunchy...or a lot raunchy, at least eight times as much as any typical adult film.
10 Fun With Dick And Jane
First off, the movie Fun With Dick and Jane has the word "dick" in the title. So things definitely seem sexual from the get-go even if it is an innocent comedy movie. Also, I cannot be the only one who reads that title as "fun with dick in jane," right? Maybe there is something wrong with me, but I just cannot believe that is a novel thought to have. There's no way that I am the only person who can interpret that wording to have some strong sexual implications. Without trying to spoof with a play on words, "Fun With Dick and Jane" is already a great title for anything in adult entertainment.
9 Big Daddy
The title Big Daddy can be interpreted by most people as being rather provocative. Well, that is dependent on what you're into and all. There's just always something a little bit awkward and weirdly sexual about the word "daddy." So it just seems a little off base for Big Daddy to be the name of a light hearted, coming of age movie about fostering a cute child. But awkwardly enough that's what the movie is called. Plus, in all honesty I would not be shocked if there were more than one adult movie with the words "big daddy" somewhere in the title.
I could not find an image of this movie poster without getting some extremely, not safe for work results in my search engine. And this is not at all surprising since the film is called XXX. I have to assume that there are so many adult entertainment-themed flicks with those exact letters as the title and a million more with "XXX" incorporated somehow with other words. The title is just straight up inappropriate. I will never ever in a billion years think of the Vin Diesel movie when I see or hear XXX being mentioned. This is seriously just a straight up dirty movie title.
7 Pretty In Pink
Part of me feels like a complete and total sicko for desecrating the title of a classic teenage movie, but I cannot be the only one who felt like there was something inappropriate about the title Pretty In Pink, right? Sorry, I'm not sorry, but that name just screams adult film to me. Sure, it's not inherently obvious, but Pretty in Pink could make a great title for an adult film. I mean come on, there is a very obvious sexual innuendo alluding to some interaction with female private parts. I never would have thought that the words "pretty in pink" would have been used for a film with Molly Ringwald and her little teenage love triangle when they could easily describe a sexual act.
6 Brokeback Mountain
The movie Brokeback Mountain was a smash hit. Both the critics and the moviegoers loved the movie. And I don't know if I have a sexual connotation with the title based on seeing it and knowing the premise or if I just feel that way based on the title alone. Nevertheless, it would make sense if there were adult films with the words "brokeback mountain" in the title or description in it. I mean any sort of activity that would break one's back sound's pretty strenuous to me, so I could totally see Brokeback Mountain as the moniker for something more illicit.
5 Deep Impact
To be honest with you, I have not a single clue what the movie Deep Impact is actually about. Whenever the name of the movie has been referenced, I just could not take it seriously. I'm not trying to be disrespectful or hate on the film, but I just cannot help but envision something sexual when the words Deep Impact are mentioned. In fact, I would not be shocked if there is already an adult film called Deep Impact that's already in existence- and this is aside from whatever adult parodies that have been made based on the actual movie.
4 The Dark Knight Rises
To be perfectly honest, this just might be an instance where I am being extremely immature about the words being used, but The Dark Knight Rises just sounds like an adult movie title to me. That honestly makes more sense to me than it would as the name of a mainstream movie. I'm sure we can all imagine what that "dark knight" is and how it would be "rising" in an adult film called The Dark Knight Rises. It really does make a lot of sense. It's not super sexually explicit, but it can be very easily implied and understood as the name of an adults only movie title.
3 Inside Man
I hate to do this to Denzel, but I just think that the Hollywood bigwigs could have definitely came up with a way better title for this movie. Inside Man just sounds way to sexual to me. I don't know if my mind is just tainted to a point where I can interpret almost anything with some sexual connotation, but it is not possible that I am the only one who would have these thoughts. It is definitely logical for Inside Man to be the name of an adult film.
2 The Longest Ride
I'm not trying to ruin the beautiful romance of this Nicholas Sparks movie, but come on, The Longest Ride would make a lot of sense as an adult film title. I bet there are a lot of people who would tune in and enjoy themselves watching something called The Longest Ride, and I'm not solely referring to fans of The Notebook and other Nicholas Sparks' works. Anything with the words "long" or "ride" in the title could definitely work as an adult film title, so the fact that they are together in the same instance really supports my case with this one.
1 Three Men And A Little Lady
Once again, I feel like I am a terrible person for my thoughts on this movie title, but there has to be something similar already in existence in the adult film world. Three Men and a Little Lady could easily be an adult film about three dudes and a little person with dwarfism. I know I'm being weird by interpreting the name of a family-friendly movie in this way, but I cannot be the only one who thought the wording was super awkward. There had to be better ways to explain the film's presence and attract moviegoers than by using that near adult film phrasing.
