10 Celebrities Who’ve Had An Abortion

Babies are a blessing. However, there are many reasons why someone would want to get an abortion. Most couples choose abortion because they are not ready – financially or psychologically - for a baby. These moms and dads are unable to support or care for a child. The next common reason people choose abortion is to end an unwanted pregnancy. Others do it because they fear their baby will have embarrassing defects or medical conditions. Most constitutions support abortion if it is done to save the life of the mother or in rape cases. This prevents the mother from being afflicted by mental or physical problems associated with the baby.

There are safe and unsafe methods of abortion. Safe methods of abortion include procedures that safely terminate a pregnancy without putting the life of the mother in danger. These methods include the use of abortion pills or by suction. Both methods are done in a clinic. Unsafe methods of abortion include procedures that are likely to end in grave consequences for the mother. These methods are often acts of desperation and include using coat hangers such in the case of Whoopi Goldberg, punching the stomach until abortion is induced, using other sharp objects to break the amniotic sac and inserting toxic mixtures such as chili peppers into the womb. This could lead to the woman bleeding to death.
