Scientology is a type of belief that has recently become more popular making it appear often in tabloids and news stories. It is the practice of re-experiencing traumatic and disturbing events in your past so that you are able to overcome the fixation on this event and feel more free. It is seen as a type of counselling that teaches people they are immortal being that no longer remember their true nature. Recently in Hollywood, it has been noted that many celebrities are now participating in the practice of Scientology and praising it to the public.
Through a coordinated effort, the Church of Scientology has been operating Celebrity Centres where it has been recruiting scientologist celebrities and making them endorse Scientology to the public at large. This program began in the 1950’s when Ron L. Hubbard created a group known as the “Project Celebrity” which offered huge rewards to Scientologists who recruited targeted celebrities. Since then, a good number of the worlds current famous celebrities have joined the Church.
