The term "plus-sized" is thrown around a lot lately, and the way I perceive the word in regards to females are women who wear a size 12 or higher. There are also individuals who spew hate or run away whenever a woman of that description is brought to the forefront. For those individuals, I revoke your man card, for there are a metric ton (no pun intended) of downright gorgeous plus-sized women in the world, and most of them are just roaming around, outside of Hollywood.
But before you go out and see these local beauties yourself, I will provide you with a top 11 list of some of the hottest plus-sized actresses Hollywood has to offer. It also doesn't hurt mentioning that many of the women featured in this list are iconic figures in their own right, whether they be singers, songwriters, or dancers with only small acting experiences on the side. However, since this is strictly for those with a career in acting or singing, plus-sized adult stars and plus-sized models will not grace this list, as there are enough of them to fill out a list containing women in those mentioned professions.
Also, don't confuse this list with "Women Who Are The Most Curvy" sort of list, because mostly all body types have a curvy category within them. No, this list is reserved for those who are just a bit plumper.
11 Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez, a Mexican-American singer, songwriter, and actress, is known for her role in ABC's medical drama Grey's Anatomy (2006–present) as Dr. Callie Torres, and as the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot, the 2005 Broadway musical for which she won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical ,according to imdb.com
Also, she makes out with a woman on Grey's Anatomy, which has lead to many rumors pertaining to her sexuality. Although recently married to a man, these have only furthered the fevered dreams of those already interested.
10 Dascha Polanco
Speaking of Orange is the New Black, a pregnant felon whose never looked better in a jumpsuit is Dayanara Diaz, played by Dascha Polanco.
Born in the Dominican Republic and relocated to Brooklyn, New York at a young age Dascha wanted to be an actress from an early age but her self-conscious views about her weight kept her from doing so. That changed, however, when Dascha went to BIH Studios in New York and was signed by the talent agency, Shirley Grant Management.
From there, she was able to gain her first full-time acting job playing Dayanara. Her luscious full lips and bedroom eyes don't hurt, either. Even in a potato sack (which isn't too far a description of her prison outfit) would you not be able to hide Polanco's juicy hips and overall figure.
9 Mariah Carey
We all know who Mariah Carey is. She's the third highest selling female artist of all time; she's the woman with $1 billion insured on her legs; and the woman responsible for that god-awful film called Glitter. She is also responsible for making the hearts of many go pitter-patter during the 90s up until this very day - a very rare common tingle of sensation both a father and son could reflect upon if provided the appropriate line of questioning.
One of the only things to change in regards to Miss Carey is her size, as it has been a fluctuating factor in her time as the apple in our eyes. But if you ask most, they'd prefer the Carey with a little meat on her bones, as it fleshes out the excellence in her billion-dollar legs, accentuates her already amazing body, and increases her radiance when performing on stage.
8 Rebel Wilson
Australia-born Rebel Wilson, known for her appearance as Brynn in the film Bridesmaids, and star of Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 as Fat Amy. Her illustrious comedic career has even lead her to win “Top 10 Comics to Watch For” in 2011 from Variety magazine. She first appeared on TV as Toula on the SBS comedy show Pizza as well as the sketch comedy series The Wedge. In 2008, the Australian starred in Bogan Pride, a musical comedy series. The following year, her role in Bargain got her the Tropfest best actress award.
Maybe her allure derives from her native accent, perhaps it’s her offbeat comedy, or possibly the stern stride in her confidence despite her charming awkwardness. Nonetheless, her appeal has captivated audiences to love her as well as her many kinky roles.
7 Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling got her comedic chops from Dartmouth College as a member of The Dog Day Players improv troupe. It's where she wrote a comic strip for the campus newspaper called 'Badly Drawn Girl,' according to her imdb.com profile.
Although she isn't the type of person she plays on the silver screen most of the time, she always has a smile and joke at the ready, which when paired together, makes up half of her charm and beauty. That and her complete indifference to having her perverted thoughts being heard publicly.
6 Nikki Blonsky
American actress Nikki Blonsky is known for her role as Tracy Turnblad in the film Hairspray (2007) and as Maggie Baker in Queen Sized, television movie. Blonsky also stars in the ABC Family original series Huge.
According to imdb.com, Nikki grew up in Great Neck, New York. Her father is of Ashkenazi Jewish descent, while Nikki's mother is of Czech and Irish ancestry. Those three elements are most likely the winning combination that make up her sexy sass, her snarky, yet lascivious demeanor, and her seemingly no nonsense attitude. Standing at a short and stout 4'10, Nikki Blonsky is the down to earth spark plug you bring home to your overbearing parents; her straightforwardness will appeal to your father, and fulfill a worthy adversary role in regards to your life and your mother will come to respect her for it.
5 Kim Coles
Born on January 11, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York City, Kim Coles is an actress known for Living Single (1993), The Geena Davis Show (2000) as well as the popular sitcom Living Color (1990).
Her shape, smile, and silly sense of humor seems to project itself off of every role she gets to play. As the oldest female in this list, her appearance has stood the test of time, as she hardly looks any more different than she did back during the prime of her career. Another plus is her firm stance on keeping her hair "natural" - with no chemical straighteners or texturizers when styling it.
4 Jill Scott
Jill Scott has done it all - both on in the recording studio and the big screen. You can watch her in the films Hound Dog and Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?as Sheila. Scott portrayed the second wife of James Brown in the film Get On Up in 2014 as well as assumed a lead in the BBC/HBO series The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.
It's the power behind this woman that truly makes her attractive. Her face and figure are only amplified when she decides to open her mouth and unleash that powerful singing voice she possesses.
3 Melissa McCarthy
Born in Plainfield, Illinois, Melissa McCarthy began her career as a stand-up comedian in New York, appearing at the Stand Up New York and The Improv clubs. But it's her work at The Actors Studio that helped her hone her skills before moving to Los Angeles in the late 1990s.
She garnered much success courtesy of what's considered her breakthrough film role as Megan Price in the 2011 comedy hit Bridesmaids. Her performance got her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, a BAFTA nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
2 Amy Schumer
Born on June 1, 1981 in Manhattan, New York City, Amy Schumer has become one of the hottest comedians in the past year, known for her role in Trainwreck (2015). She began her career as a stand-up comedian.
What makes Amy stand out for her sexiness besides her natural good looks and innocent face is her stand-up routine, which features more than enough sexual references and inappropriate subject matter to raise a suggestive eyebrow. She seems like she's found herself in a room full of guys, immersed around guy conversation, and instead of turning her nose up at it--learned to speak the language. Also, her legs are amazing. They're as memorizing as the fragile lamp Ralphie couldn't take his eyes off of in A Christmas Story.
1 Jolene Purdy
Jolene Purdy starred as Cherita Chen in Donnie Darko, a cult classic. The young actress has appeared in numerous TV shows, including the Fox sitcom, Do Not Disturb, as well as the ABC Family comedy series 10 Things I Hate About You. She appeared as a guest star on Judging Amy and Boston Public.
She is also smoothed talked by Aaron Paul's character Jessie Pinkman in a season three episode of Breaking Bad. Not to mention we will be seeing a lot of her in the upcoming fourth season of Netflix's Orange is the New Black.
There also may exist a tweet long ago of me telling Purdy that I personally think she's "purdy."
