Gomez became a U.N Ambassador in 2009, making her the youngest ambassador to join the ranks. According to the UNICEF website, she advocates for “The world’s most vulnerable children” on behalf of the organization through programs and activities. She has visited impoverished cities like Ghana, where she
noticed first hand how children have no access to health care, education or clean water. In 2012, she held a live auction for UNICEF's Snowflake Ball, raising $2.5 million.
