It doesn't take looks to become a billionaire. It takes a lot of things, and while looks may help, aesthetics are not essential to make an absurd amount of money. Many billionaires out there are fairly average looking. What all billionaires do have is drive, determination, a vision and ruthless tenacity. Many also have some degree of financial savvy (but some really don't), most have a strong educational background, and plenty were raised by people who told them to do their own thing, rather than be a wage slave (employee) for their entire lives.
But while good looks are not a prerequisite for money, a lot of money does generally bring around people with good looks. There's a reason the late Anna Nicole Smith married J. Howard Marshall when he was in his late 80s and it had nothing to do with his personality or looks. The best looking people are attracted to money and this is why while a billionaire may be average or less than average looking, there is a good chance that their progeny will be one heck of a specimen.
Here is a list of daughters, granddaughters and great-granddaughters of billionaires, mostly from America but also from around the world. Some of them are irritating spoiled brats, others are accomplished in business, while many are philanthropists and several of them are into expensive animals. The two things they all have in common are money and beauty, and really, are there any two things more important in the world today?
20 Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton
Why list the Hilton sisters first? Because everybody knows about them, most people are sick of them (Paris anyway) and while nobody needs to hear about them anymore, they're necessary adds to any list like this one. Might as well get them out of the way. Paris and Nicky are the great-granddaughters of Conrad Hilton, who started the Hilton hotel chain.
For those who missed it (you lucky ducks), Paris made a name for herself as a spoiled party girl in New York while working as a model for Donald Trump's modeling agency, and then became a "reality" TV star on The Simple Life. More recently she has started businesses in the fashion industry along with a line of fragrances.
Paris' younger sister Nicky, has had less time in the limelight, and has focused on a series of business ventures, having dabbled in jewelry, handbags, modeling and cosmetics.
19 Aerin Lauder
One of the oldest members on our list, and living proof that being an heiress of a massive cosmetics company can help one look youthful well into her forties (who'd have thought?). The granddaughter of Estee and Joseph Lauder, she is now one of the key figures in Estee Lauder Companies, and is worth just over a billion dollars herself. Within that group of companies, she has fragrances, various cosmetic products, furniture and fashion products that bear her name.
Unfortunately gents, she's off the market and has been for twenty years, having married Eric Zinterhofer; a prominent New York investment banker, back in 1996. But the crazy thing is, two kids and twenty years later, not to mention her absurdly busy schedule, she still looks fantastic, fit and easily ten years younger than she is.
18 Dylan Lauren
Another gorgeous woman from the category of "there's no way she's over forty", Dylan Lauren is the daughter of Ralph Lauren whose many companies total a net worth of around $6 billion. Back in 2001, she opened her candy store, Dylan's Candy Bar, which she calls the largest in the world. Inspired by Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the massive store boasts thousands of varieties of treats from all corners of the globe. What started as a dream of a young entrepreneur quickly became a New York landmark and is now a growing chain that has over a dozen locations across the United States. It's unclear how much of these sugary treats she actually eats, but whatever the amount, she clearly works it off one way or another, because she looks very youthful for 42.
17 Holly Branson
Worth around $5 billion, British businessman Richard Branson seems to be able to do no wrong. He's best known for an airline, and a wireless communications company, but the Virgin Group is actually made up of over 400 businesses. While it does look like he's had nothing but success, he, like most entrepreneurs has known failure in his time. Virgin Cola, clothing, cosmetic lines, Virgin Cars, a lingerie line, and of course social networking all serve as learning experiences for the charismatic entrepreneur.
On top of his wealth and experiences, he has a gorgeous daughter. She's as brilliant as she is gorgeous, and after several years of medical school, she decided her path lay elsewhere and decided to go to work for her old man. Not a bad choice, not that she needs our approval...
16 Emma Lasry
Moroccan-American hedge fund manager Marc Lasry, is the CEO of Avenue Capital Group; an investment firm that focuses on distressed securities (to simplify: decent companies that have potential but have handled money poorly). It is one of the largest hedge funds in the world. Aside from this business, Lasry also co-owns the Milwaukee Bucks NBA team.
His daughter Emma, tried to be a pop star a few years ago, and released a song and video called Closet B*tch. It was no Stairway to Heaven, but the online community was less than kind to the young (then seventeen) girl's attempt. Some commented that her dad's money couldn't buy talent, while others went after her looks, and others still just commented that her voice was terrible. Despite the negativity that the internet can bring, she persevered and has continued to make music.
15 Charlotte Casiraghi
This gorgeous thirty year old is eighth in line for the throne of Monaco, so she has that going for her. Her father, the late Stefano of the Casiraghi family, who made their money in real estate and in the retail industry, died back in 1990 in a boating accident. Her mother's family are royalty. The two families have a net worth of well over $2 billion. Charlotte herself is an accomplished show jumper (equestrian) and is active in the publishing business. She worked as the editor for Above magazine a few years ago. Above deal mainly with environmental topics.
More recently she has been pursuing a project called Ever Manifesto, which is a publication that covers issues of sustainability in the fashion industry.
14 Roshni Nadar
Shiv Nadar is one of the wealthiest men in India, having built one of that country's most profitable IT giants, HCL Enterprise, from the ground up. He started the business in the mid-1970s and in the forty-five years since, has transformed the company into a $22 billion business, with over 100,000 employees. Aside from his business ventures, Nadar is a respected philanthropist, having donated large sums of money to universities and personally founding a college.
His daughter Roshni joined the family business in her late 20s and quickly rose to become its CEO. It should be noted that this isn't a case of daddy's girl getting promoted, she's actually brilliant and works absurdly hard. She has had two kids, but even during pregnancy and after the children were born, she took little time off and maintained a strong leadership presence within the company.
13 Ariana Rockefeller
The Rockefeller name is synonymous in the United States with wealth. John and William Rockefeller made obscene amounts of money back in the late 1800s with Standard Oil. At the time of John D. Rockefeller's death in the 1930s, he had today's equivalent of over $300 billion. It is hard to pin down exactly how much the family is worth today, but between all of their investments, it is considered to be somewhere over $10 billion.
Ariana Rockefeller is the great-great-granddaughter of John D Rockefeller and has her own women's fashion brand. Most of the stuff is equestrian themed, as horses are a passion of hers.
12 Caroline Jones
Caroline Jones is the daughter of Paul Tudor Jones, the founder of the Tudor Investment Corporation. His hedge fund is one of the largest and most successful in the world and he boasts a personal net worth of just under $5 billion. He also founded the Robin Hood Foundation. This charity focuses on poverty in New York, identifying the underlying problems and addressing them; working with hundreds of not-for-profit organizations to help those in the city who need it most.
His daughter Caroline is a gifted singer/songwriter and plays several instruments. She also founded The Heart is Smart Initiative, which is a school tour that helps students learn the basics of entrepreneurship along with musical and vocal lessons.
11 Vanisha Mittal
This daughter of Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal got married a few years ago in what is considered one of the most expensive weddings ever planned. Mittal is the chairman of ArcelorMittal, the largest steel company in the world. He was among the top ten richest people in the world at one point, but has since dropped into the eighties. What a loser, right?
Vanisha herself has studied business at the University of London and now works as an executive in her father's business. Remember that wedding we mentioned earlier? Well it was apparently a week of festivities leading up to the actual ceremony, and cost 60 million pounds. She married Indian-British businessman Amit Bhatia, but there's good news, gents, there have been rumors that the couple split up back in 2013.
10 Paige Johnson
Paige Johnson is Robert Johnson's daughter. Johnson is of course the founder of BET: Black Entertainment Television. After working in a television studio in Washington D.C. he started his own network; one with a particular audience in mind: African Americans. He built the company up from nothing, until Viacom purchased it in 2000 for $3 billion. Aside from BET, Johnson has real estate holdings and plenty of other investments that make him money.
Paige (like a few of the women on this list) is into horses, and has been an avid equestrian since she was a child, and continues to compete to this day. She got married in the Bahamas three years ago.
9 Sofia Abramovich
If you're a fan of football (soccer, to the North Americans), you may recognize the last name "Abramovich" as that of the owner of Chelsea in the English Premier League. Roman Abramovich bought the team back in 2003. Away from the pitch, he is a businessman who owes much of his success to businesses, mainly in the oil and gas sectors. Today, he's worth just shy of $10 billion.
His daughter Sofia, is stunning and living one heck of a life, most of which she documents on social media. But throwing pictures of everything from helicopter rides to her pet horses online has brought her plenty of hate, with trolls bashing her way of life, looks and wealth.
8 Elizabeth Paige Laurie
Elizabeth Paige Laurie (who mostly goes by Paige) is Bud Walton's granddaughter. He is one of the co-founders of Wal-Mart. While Bill Gates may be the richest man on Earth, the Walton family is estimated to be worth about $150 billion. Say what you will about the scandals, the "shady business practices" and the effect some people think Wal-Mart has on the economy, the family has used a great deal of financial savvy to create an incredible retail giant.
Paige has benefited plenty from her family's status and has lived in the lap of luxury for her entire life. Unfortunately for her a couple of years ago, she and her husband Patrick Dubbert, were in the middle of a divorce and he was trying to get as much as he could out of his rich ex, claiming that she would have to pay him about $250,000 per month so that he could maintain the cushy lifestyle he got used to. It is unclear whether they reached an agreement, but either way, we can't blame Pat for trying.
7 Georgina Bloomberg
The daughter of former NYC mayor Michael Bloomberg is Georgina, who, like so many others on this list, is a professional equestrian. She won a bronze medal at last year's Pan Am Games in Toronto. Considering all the members of this list that are into show jumping, it would seem that horse-related sports are to rich girls without a care in the world, what demolition derbies are to rednecks.
While her father is primarily known these days as the former mayor, he made most of his money in the financial sector, and founded Bloomberg L.P., which has media and tech interests alongside financial services.
6 Josie Ho
The daughter of Macau's "King of Gambling", Stanley Ho, Josie is a singer/actress based in Hong Kong. She has been acting for over twenty years, on the big screen and in television. Her singing has garnered some success but not a significant as her film career. Her husband Conroy Chan is also a singer-actor, and they started their own film studio a few years ago.
Stanley, her father, is in his 90s now and built his empire in tourism, banking, shipping and real estate, but he is most known for his casinos. He was granted a full monopoly over gambling in Macau back in the 1950s. He is also rumored to have ties to organized crime, but these have never led to any serious investigation.
5 Tiffany and Ivanka Trump
No matter what your politics and views on The Donald and his Presidential campaign, we all have to admit he has a pair of hot daughters. Trump himself has even hinted at how hot his daughter Ivanka is (what can we say, he says what's on his mind). Ivanka is a former model, and now a high ranking executive in The Trump Organization. She's also one of the most stunning women out there right now. Her half sister Tiffany, is also pretty sexy, and has earned a large following on social media, and has started what can loosely be called a singing career. While Ivanka looks the part as a powerful hot businesswoman, Tiffany kind of looks like a dopey sorority girl that any dude could take home this weekend if he bought a few shots and made a couple of cute jokes.
4 Kathrine and Cecilie Fredriksen
If you're into tall, blonde Scandinavians, have we got a treat for you. Kathrine and Cecilie Fredriksen are the twin daughters of John Fredriksen; Norway's former richest man (who abandoned his citizenship). Fredriksen made his fortune in shipping and is known for having made a killing (pun intended) during the Iran-Iraq War in the 1980s. He moved Iranian crude oil during the conflict, and while the risks were high, the rewards were vastly higher.
His daughters Kathrine and Cecilie, both have business degrees and work for one of their father's shipping companies: Frontline. The family are also active in philanthropy, mainly funding cancer research (their mother died of cancer at a young age) and other medical initiatives. They are also art collectors and have been involved in the fashion industry.
3 Jennifer Katharine Gates
Of course the heiress to the richest man on Earth makes an appearance on our list. Almost everyone knows the story of Bill Gates. He had a vision and he made it happen, earning over $80 billion in the process. Over the past fifteen years, Gates and his wife Melinda, have contributed over $25 billion to charity through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
Jennifer Katharine Gates is Bill and Melinda's oldest and as you probably could have predicted, she's a horse fanatic. A couple of years ago, dad bought her an $18 million equestrian estate in California. Gates has said that it was not only a gift for her but also a property he wants to develop as a place for show jumpers to compete.
Note that if you're trying to look up pictures of her and they look like actress Rachael Leigh Cook, that's because they are pictures of said actress. The internet is a silly place and many websites have mixed up the two, despite their looking nothing alike.
2 Amanda Hearst
An heiress to the Hearst fortune, Amanda is William Randolph Hearst's great granddaughter. For those who don't know the name, he was America's publishing giant in the late 1800s and early 1900s. He founded newspapers and magazines across the country and also became involved in politics.
She has worked as a model, is an active philanthropist, having worked with Riverkeeper; a clean water not-for-profit, and founded Friends of Finn, who work against puppy mills. She is also a graduate of Fordham University, and took art history. She ranks as the only art history major to have achieved a paying job as she has been an editor of Marie-Claire magazine.
1 Petra and Tamara Ecclestone
He's worth about $3.1 billion and is the chief executive of Formula One Group. Bernie Ecclestone worked his way up through the world of car racing from driver to team owner to executive. Now in his mid-80s, Ecclestone's two younger daughters were born in the 1980s, when he was in his fifties. Tamara and Petra are an incredibly hot pair born in 1984 and 1988, respectively. Tamara is a reality TV star and a former model, and Petra is also a model, but has tried her hand at fashion and accessory design. Both are married now and have kids, but we decided to use a picture from a few years ago before all that nonsense went on. A few years ago Tamara posed for Playboy.
