Most die-hard fans fell in love with Drake when he played the character of Jimmy on the hit Canadian TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation. Why do so many people love Drake? It could be the soft timbre of his voice singing us sweet lyrics that even men cry over. It could be his cool and hip public image. Drake's public image supports a carpe diem type lifestyle and popularized the phrase "YOLO" with his single hit song, "The Motto." Fans might love Drake because of the uncool and unpopular role he played on Degrassi, which many people can relate to. He draws fans in by showing off his skill and style in his music, while also revealing a soft and vulnerable side in many of his lyrics.
While other rap artists generally have their music played in bars and nightclubs, Drake's music is versatile. Not only does it appear in nightclubs, but also on the radio, in gyms, and shopping malls. But if Drake is so loved, then why does the internet insist on making fun of him with an endless supply of memes? It could be because of the interesting mash-up of his personality and musical talent. And, most famous celebrities don't get treated nearly as well as Drake does in his meme form. So, let's get the ball rolling!

With all of these fans, Drake obviously has a lot of haters and experiences quite a lot of backlash. We can just say they are jealous of his insane success, charming personality, and good looks. And while many rappers are busy dissing Drake over petty things, Drake is busy making history. Drake has gotten called out on a variety of issues by rappers like Meek Mill, Common, Chris Brown, and Tyga. Apparently, Meek Mill dissed Drake via Twitter, calling him out for not announcing his album. The song "Charged Up" is considered to be Drake's response to the allegations. When Tyga had the nerve to call Drake fake, he once again came out with another song. "You're Reading This It's Too Late" is seen as a response to Tyga and also criticizes his relationship with the then underage Kylie Jenner. The fact that Drake responds to his critics with a bigger and better hit song makes him a classic gentleman. I think it is safe to say that we simply love Drake because, really, he is just a big teddy bear.
