The Tiger Woods Foundation was inaugurated on 1996 by Tiger Woods, himself and his father, Earl. Its mission is to empower young people and help them achieve their dreams by giving them the tools necessary to do so.
Tiger Woods Foundation specific programs include:
1. Tiger Woods Learning Center – a youth-education facility where the teaching method is based on the idea that students learn best by doing. Their teaching is interactive and flexible in nature that engages scholars in creative thinking, problem solving, team building and, most importantly, career exploration and college preparation. It is a hands on program.
2. Tiger’s Action Plan – Tiger Action Plan aims to help young people identify their personal goals and how best to achieve them. with someone in his position, tiger has plenty of accessibility and can help these youngsters find their own paths to success. Comprised of six units, each around three hours in length, the Action Plan includes a series of activities that can be completed at the student’s own pace, either individually or in a group setting led by a teacher or group leader.
3. Earl Woods Scholarship Program – Works to send bright, underprivileged young people to college or up, for four years.
