Wendy Williams announced her return date and revealed Jerry O’Connell will guest host for the time being!

Wendy Williams is always spilling the tea, however, she might be sipping some hot tea in order to feel better. Williams initially announced her hiatus about two weeks ago on Feb. 21, 2018, letting her viewers in on what’s been happening with the talk show host.

Williams told her fans how her struggle with hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease has really been taking it out of her. Williams has been quite open to the public about her health issues and has discussed them several times on The Wendy Williams Show.

The first sign of her potential hiatus came in early February when Williams canceled three days of taping due to her then undiagnosed illness. The star posted to Instagram on Feb. 14, 2018, wearing a dazzling pink dressing gown and white towel turban, captioning the snap: “I feel awful. I had to be talked out of going to work today,” admitting to going to the doctors to figure out whether she had the flu or not.

Fast-forward to March 6, 2018, Wendy revealed she will finally be returning to her show on March 19. The star will make her comeback after a “much needed” break to rest and tend to her health. Williams took to her Twitter to reveal this news to her eager fans awaiting her return. The TV host also announced who will be replacing her for the time being!

A friend and fan favorite to The Wendy Show, Jerry O’Connell, is set to guest host while Wendy is away. Wendy wrote in her Tweet: “Hey @MrJerryOC thanks for being my guest host while I’m out getting some much-needed rest. See you all Monday, March 19th XOX, Wendy.”

Wendy confirmed this via social media, admitting that Jerry will be her temporary replacement during her three-week leave of absence. Williams wrote in her post: “Jerry has been such a good friend to me and to the show. We’re happy to welcome him as a guest host… Can’t wait to get back in my purple chair.”

Jerry is reassuring both Wendy and fans of the show, that he will be keeping the same tone as Wendy does saying: “We will say it like we mean it”, and that’s just how we like it! Get well soon, Wendy!
