20 Robert Downey Jr. is almost as rich as Stark

Via pinterest.com

Robert Downey Jr. really changed his life around over the past few years. He disappeared from Hollywood for a while because he allowed his bad habits to get the best of him. There was a time we thought he was gone from Hollywood for good. But he is one of the best comeback stories we have heard and now he has a net worth of $180 million. It is rumored that he got paid $200 million just for taking on his role as Iron Man in the new Avengers: Infinity War. Now that’s an insane amount of money for just one actor to be paid. He has made Iron Man who he is, though, and that’s one role we couldn’t imagine anyone else playing.

“I ain’t him, I’ll tell you that flat out. There’s always a bit of a burn off period when they run out of call sheets for me. I’m just an actor.

I’m just a guy who does have a very interesting past, who does not regret it, who wished to shut the door on it. I think that that translates,” he told EW.

19 Chris Pratt Plays A Lord

Chris Pratt is another actor that has been in the industry for years. He was a B-list actor, however, for a very long time. It wasn’t until he got the roles in Jurassic World and Guardians of the Galaxy that he shot to fame. He not only changed his body, but his entire life drastically changed in a matter of years, too.

“I know that me personally I'm different than anyone else, just like our mothers all tell us we're all very special and unique and we are, and I think if an actor can stick to trying to make the character resemble something from their own spirit it will automatically be unique.

It's not necessarily going to be trying to be Han Solo or trying to be Marty McFly or trying to be any other character you've seen before, it's like, 'no, this is gonna be just me in this role.'"

18 Only Ryan Reynolds could play Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds had to fight to have Deadpool be what it is today. We originally saw Deadpool come out in one of the X-Men movies and he was a pretty creepy character. None of the big wigs in Hollywood wanted to see that characters come out and have an identity of its own. It’s really Reynolds that made Deadpool what it is today. He had been working for ten years with Fox to convince them to let Deadpool have his own arena.

“Yeah, Deadpool was at the time somewhat dead in the water. I had a bit of that cliché moment right before you marry someone, where you're telling the love of your life you're going to marry this other person unless they object in this moment.

But [Fox] just couldn't really pull the trigger.”

17 Scarlett Johansson has come a long way

Scarlett Johansson is one of the most badass female superheroes we have. She has a net worth of $100 million and it’s rumored that she gets paid $25 million to play Black Widow which is certainly a far cry from what Robert Downey Jr. gets paid. She is one of the highest-paid females in the industry. She also gets a $6 million bonus for the role if the movie itself goes beyond making $900 million at the box office. She is due to put out a solo film for Black Widow and it’s estimated that it will outperform Wonder Woman. “I really like playing Natasha; playing the Black Widow [in The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War].

It's been an interesting journey, to take a character and grow it over these years, and peel the layers back and be able to, as you do in life, grow with this person.

It's a character that's really enigmatic and has an amazing origins story, so there's a lot for me to play off of.”

16 Ben Affleck took on Gotham

No one thought Ben Affleck would be able to pull off Batman when he was first cast for the role. He certainly surprised us all and he was welcomed into the fold. Affleck has a net worth of $100 million and he was paid $15 million to take on the role of Batman. Considering Justice League had a $281 million opening at the box office, it was considered a failure. We suppose if they compare it to the $900 million that the Avengers movies pull it, then we suppose it could be a failure. Sure, they don’t do as well as the Avengers movies, but they definitely have their own fanbase.

“I like this version of Batman a lot.

It was a lot to carry around the danger of being angry and resentful of Superman the whole time, which led to a darker tone.”

15 Chris Hemsworth is a bolt of lightning

Chris Hemsworth has been playing Thor for a while in standalone films as well as in the Avengers franchise. He has a net worth of $60 million. One reason why Hemsworth is frustrated with his character is because he has to play it differently.

"I came into this and called Joe and Anthony and said, Look, don't write me the old Thor, we've got a new Thor now."

The problem was that the directors had decided to reinvent his character yet again. Hemsworth had a really hard time with that. "I was like 'no, no, no' and I was really protective of what I'd created with Taika." In the end, he accepted it. "They then said, 'No this is a whole different thing; Thor's never faced something like this, never been a part of this large ensemble. I think for our characters it was difficult but for me a hugely exciting adventure.'"

14 Captain America: The First Avenger

Via Celebrity Pet Worth

Chris Evans came onto the scene as Captain America. He is part of the Avengers team and he has taken on some standalone films. He has a net worth of $50 million. He started off as making $300,000 for his role as Captain America in movies like Captain America: The First Avenger and then started making $2 million for his role in the Avengers franchise. Chris Evans stated that the contracts are all completed for the cast of the Avengers and that means some characters may be retiring. “Myself, Downey Jr, and Hemsworth, we all kind of started roughly at the same time.” He continued, “I mean, I think we all [thought] Avengers 4 kind of wraps it up. But at this point, I don't know what's next.”

13 Henry Cavill is a noble Superman

Henry Cavill played Superman long before he became part of the Justice League. He’s not as highly paid as say Robert Downey Jr., but he has a decent $20 million net worth and he got paid $14 million for his role as the Man of Steel. Superman like a lot of the characters we see here has evolved over time. “The people who aren’t die-hard Superman fans still need to be able to associate with the character and that needs to have a sense of realism in today’s world, certainly a sense of science as opposed to mythology attached to it as well.

So, people, as I say, can associate and have an emotional connection with him.”

But real fans can still appreciate him. “The realism — I liked the idea immediately because the traditional Superman fans know what it’s all about and they will hopefully love and associate with the character anyway, because they’ve grown up with him.”

12 Mark Ruffalo is a big softie

Via Just Jared

Mark Ruffalo was a surprise when it came to his role as The Hulk. We have seen him over the years in various rom-coms, but he makes a surprising Hulk. He replaced Edward Norton who was the original Hulk, but the first movie tanked so bad that they had to rethink the whole thing. Ruffalo has talked about how he feels the Hulk is still trying to fit in with the entire group of Avengers. “Once again, I think he’s trying to find his place in the line-up,” star Mark Ruffalo said.

“He’s having some difficulties integrating with the rest of the group, but he’s also privy to some information that is essential for their survival.

Banner knows probably more about Thanos than probably anybody and he’s really trying to impress on everybody how dangerous he is.”

11 Zoe Saldana is one tough lady

Zoe Saldana got to play Gamora in both of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies as well as being invited to Avengers: Infinity War. She has a modest net worth of $20 million and certainly wasn’t paid as well as her male counterparts for the Avengers movie. When she was watching the Avengers movie, she was surprised by what all the other actors had been doing.

“I was surprised by all the other stories that were not a part of the story that I shot.

A lot of Gamora's involvement in this whole event takes place with certain characters [namely, the Guardians of the Galaxy], so obviously, she would be completely impervious to whatever is going on outside of that. So, for me as an actress, I was kind of like that as well.”

10 Bradley Cooper is a fox

Via Bradley Cooper Instagram

Bradley Cooper is, of course, another A-list actor that is one of the highest earners in Hollywood. He has a net worth of $100 million and he’s done the voice of Rocket for the movie which probably isn’t as fun as being on set with the rest of the actors. He was in both of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies as well as Avengers: Infinity War. Cooper is so A-list that he doesn’t even have to wear the green suit and crouch around the set to mimic Rocket’s movement. That is the job of Sean Gunn who is the director’s brother. Sean said,

“It is strange to spend so many hours as a character and then see it and have it be neither my voice nor my face.

But I never did the job because I thought it would get me a lot of attention. I did the job because I wanted the movie to be as good as it could possibly be.”

9 Paul Rudd always impresses

We will be seeing Paul Rudd take on the character of Ant-Man in Ant-Man and the Wasp this year. He has a net worth of $30 million and it was interesting to see him leave comedy for a superhero role. It was for that reason alone that he wanted to do the role.

“The idea of doing something so different from anything I’d ever done before, and that people might hear that I was cast in this movie and their reaction might be, 'Huh?' Because it didn’t jibe with the rest of the stuff.

So that was a huge appeal and the fact that the movie kind of fired on all the cylinders that I’m interested in and that I like, that it’s funny but it has heart. There’s an emotional story that you can kind of get invested in. And then the visuals and the action and the effects are — I mean, they’re crazy good.”

8 Paul Bettany Played Two Superheroes

Via Marvel UK & Ireland Twitter

You may not have been aware that Paul Bettany played the voice of Stark’s A.I. J.A.R.V.I.S. for the first five Marvel movies. It is rare for Marvel to allow an actor to play two different characters but they broke their own rules when they gave Bettany the role of Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Bettany has said that it was because of director Joss Whedon that he was allowed to play the character of Vision.

“They [Marvel] have a rule, that you’re not allowed to play more than one character in the Marvel universe,”

explained Bettany. “So, they broke the rules. They bent the rules slightly for me because Joss really wanted to bring the Vision into the film world, and he really wanted me to do it.”

7 Benedict Cumberbatch Is a class act

Benedict Cumberbatch came on the superhero scene because of his role in Doctor Strange and he was one of the superheroes that got to be part of Avengers: Infinity War. He has a net worth of $30 million right now which is considered to be modest if it’s up against Robert Downey Jr. On the set of Avengers: Infinity War, a lot of the cast bonded because it was basically a room full of really cool people.

Cumberbatch stated he thought Chris Pratt was "arduous and boring and not particularly funny."

We know he was only being sarcastic because he stated that working with Pratt was part of his “bucket list” because he felt Pratt would be “good fun.” If you have seen any of the behind the scene stuff, you’ll see that the cast are all really good friends.

6 Vin Diesel Plays Groot

via hollywood reporter

Vin Diesel has an estimated net worth of $160 million, so he’s right up there with Robert Downey Jr. He was reportedly paid $35 million for his role as Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy which is crazy considering he only does the voice of the character. He likely got something similar when it came to Avengers: Infinity War. Diesel even said that the role of Groot helped him with his grief over losing his best friend, Paul Walker. It only took four months for him to record his role as Groot while Furious 7 was on hiatus as they tried to figure out what to do without Walker.

“That was healing for me,”

Diesel told Variety. “To play a character that could reincarnate, rejuvenate and represent life as trees do.”

5 Tom Holland has his own take on Spider-Man

Via Tom Holland Instagram

Tom Holland is the new kid in town. He’s started up the Spider-Man franchise again in 2017, though he brought us a more annoying and childish version of our favorite neighborhood Spider-Man. He was also being scouted out for the Avengers though we’re not sure why. Tony Stark appears to have grown a liking to the kid and there were times that he acted as a father figure to him. He appeared again in Avengers: Infinity War and will probably be a part of any other Avenger movies if they decided to make any more. He has a net worth of $4 million so he’s not on Stark’s level but he’s doing well for a kid his age.

4 Gal Gadot is A Wonder on the silver screen

Gal Gadot is the new girl in town and she is taking the superhero world by storm. We don’t have a lot of female superheroes so it’s refreshing to see another badass female on the scene. She started off as playing Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and then she was given her own movie Wonder Woman. She’s continued on with the Justice League franchise knocking out another movie. She is set to be in an untitled Flash movie as well as another Justice League movie for 2020. These days she is worth $8 million.

3 Samuel L. Jackson is iconic

Samuel L. Jackson has been playing the role of Nick Fury since 2008. He has been in nine movies never mind the video games he has used his voice in. He will be back at the character again for the Captain Marvel movie that is currently being filmed. He’s a badass character with a voice that is recognizable anywhere. He’s been in the industry for a very long time so he’s far surpassed Robert Downey Jr’s net worth and he sits around $220 million. So, he’s definitely one of the richest actors that have been in the Marvel Universe.

2 Don Cheadle is the War Machine

via instagram

Don Cheadle got invited to Avengers: Infinity War as the War Machine. He’s another actor that has been in the industry for years and has a net worth of $35 million. He’s been in a few movies over the years as War Machine and it’s stated that he has another Avengers movie in post-production. We saw him originally in the Iron Man movies and he’s even dabbled in movies like Oceans 11 and Flight. He has a strong career in the industry and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

1 Karen Gillian is a rising star

Via Karen Gillian Instagram

Karen Gillian is a superhero from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and she was also one of the characters invited along to Avengers: Infinity War. You may also recognize her from the reboot of Jumanji. She is starting to get a name for herself in Hollywood though she has the lowest net worth on our list at $2 million. She is set to star in another Avengers movie as well as Jumanji 2, so her future definitely looks much busier. This foxy redhead is definitely a star to watch out for.
