Sky Cinema Comedy Celebrates Groundhog Day By Showing Groundhog Day 13 Times

British movie channel Sky Cinema Comedy is celebrating Groundhog Day by showing the movie of the same name over and over and over again.

There is nothing quite as demoralizing as being stuck in a rut. Actually, let us rephrase that. There is nothing quite as demoralizing as realizing that you are stuck in a rut. That you are basically living out the same day over and over again. If it was a day spent on a sunny beach or by the pool it might not be so bad. That wouldn't really fit the definition of being stuck in a rut, though.

No matter how much it might feel as if we are living out the same 24 hour period over and over again, we can assure you that you're not. We know for certain because we have seen it happen on the big screen to Bill Murray, so we know what it looks like. For those of you who don't know, Groundhog Day is not just a movie. It is a real day on the calendar and it just happens to be today, February 2.

If you were aware that Groundhog Day falls on February 2, what are you doing to celebrate? If you live in the UK, perhaps you are watching the aforementioned Murray movie over and over again. That's because the movie channel is showing the iconic film back to back all day long.

The first showing started at 6 am this morning and the last will be at 4:45 am tomorrow morning. That means if you are reading this on Groundhog Day, you have not missed out on the fun. If you are already tuned in, you will be well on your way to seeing all 13 showings of the movie. It's not the first time Sky Cinema has celebrated in this way. It did the exact same thing in 2016 and 2018.

If you'd prefer to get out of the house on this Groundhog Day, we have some more good news. Digital Spy reports that Liverpool Small Cinema is also getting in on the fun, showing Groundhog Day on a loop for 24 straight hours. Honestly, considering the kind of guy Murray is, we wouldn't be surprised if he shows up for one or more of those showings.
