While Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber are on a “break,” Selena made a trip to her home state of Texas to visit with her mother and some other members of the family.
Selena and her mom, Mandy Teffey, have always been very close. If you met Selena’s mom in person you would not see a controlling, money-grabbing, abusive parent. Instead, you would see how much she truly loves her daughter and fights for her in a motherly sense and in terms of her career, in a management sense.
Hollywood Life reported that it is not easy for Teffey to forget the issues Gomez and Bieber had. It is just as difficult for Gomez to forget that she was and still is in love with Bieber.

To give Bieber credit, many reported that his new maturity included stopping his teenage ways and even regularly attending a charismatic Christian church. That certainly makes better headlines that Bieber peeing in a janitor's bucket; one of his major goof-ups from the past. It does seem like he cleaned his act up significantly.
However, rumors suggested that Bieber would not propose marriage to Gomez unless he could first receive Teffey's permission. When someone has hurt the one you love the most, it is not easy to forgive and forget.
While all of this was going on, Gomez became estranged from her mother because the stuff was happening too fast. Her mother was having trouble keeping up with the changes. A jerk of a guy from the past is now suddenly so different? Yes, this does happen and everyone deserves a second chance to redeem themselves.
The whole world of tabloid media publicity, which must make Beiber and Gomez both crazy, was having a difficult time keeping up with the changes. Questions arose like; are they getting back together again? Are they just friends? Is there a possibility of marriage? Is Justin sincere? and so on.
The good news is during the break from Beiber, Gomez went to visit her mom. No matter how frustrating it is for anyone to get along with their parents, every person only has one biological mother. It does not ever get closer on a person-to-person basis, than that.
