eSports was barely even a thing way back in the early 2000s. After 2010, everything changed and the world saw what eSports Championships are all about. Games like DotA and League of Legends made a whole lot of difference to the eSports league. Companies like Riot and Valve developed these games and started the championships.

The prize money increased and from a few hundred dollars to nearly 25 million dollars at this point. This has created some top players who have also become quite rich. Most competitors have played top games like DotA 2 and League of Legends, and the richest players are mostly those playing DotA 2.

Syed 'Sumail' Hassan

Syed Hassan has been playing DotA since the age of 8 and has really made a name for himself. He was born in Pakistan but moved to Chicago, Illinois, in the US. He was signed up by the team Evil Geniuses. He was considered an expert by 2015 and has just been getting better at his game.

He won The International in 2015 and then came in 3rd in the 2016 and 2018 competitions. He is the highest-earning player of Pakistani origin and the 3rd highest Asian. At just 16-years old, Syed is also the youngest player to cross the $1 million mark.

Maroun 'GH' Mehrej

This legend is the player who won The International on his first attempt. He is one of the best Middle-Eastern players and has been on teams like E-Labs. He was signed by Team Liquid in 2017 and they went on to win StarLadder i-League Star Series Season 3, Epicenter 2017, The International 2017, and Aegis of Champions.

He is the highest earning Lebanese player and the second-highest Asian player of the game. His earnings so far have been tremendous. Maroun Mehrej (or GH as he is known in the eSports circuit) is truly one to look out for.

Ivan 'Mind_Control' Ivanov

Ivan Ivanov is one cool player in eSports and is currently the highest-earning Bulgarian eSports player. He was taken in by Kuroky to team up in 5Jungz and later on Team Liquid. Ivan and the team went on to win The International 2017. Later on, he won the China DotA 2 SuperMajor in the year 2018.

The next International had him at 4th place in 2018 and 2nd place in 2019. Right now he has already won $4.5 million and he continues to rule the game. Ivan “Mind Control” has what it takes to be the best. He is also the 6th highest earning eSports player from the European sector.

Amer 'Miracle' Al-Barkawi

'Miracle' is Jordan’s highest-earning eSports player. He started off as part of Balkan Bears and then was without a team for some time. He did well and had the highest MMR which made him famous around the circuit. He was later signed on by Monkey Business and then Team Liquid. Once he was in Team Liquid, he really showed his stuff and helped win The International 2017.

He still is part of the Team Liquid gang and has earned a cool $4,692,418 so far. He came in 4th at The Internationals 2018 and 2nd in the year 2019. He is one of the highest Asian earning players of all time.

Kuro 'Kuroky' Takhasomi

Kuroky is another legend in the eSports game. He was born in Iran and moved to Germany where he was raised. He has disabilities in his legs. He started the eSports games with Mousesports and then joined Na’Vi. Though he did well for the team in T13, he left it and created Team Secret.

This too did not go well and so Kuroky formed another team called 5Jungz which later was called Team Liquid. Through all this, Kuroky challenged himself and created a young team that would eventually steal the show at The Internationals circuit. He is the highest earning German player with earnings of about $5,128,788 so far.

Topias 'Topson' Taavitsainen

Topias Taavitsainen is an unusual player who was first noticed for his different ways such as picking the most mechanically difficult characters to play. He was 8 when he started playing the game in Finland. Due to his unusual ways, he was noticed by Sebastian ‘Ceb’ Debs who asked him to join Team OG.

They won the European Qualifier and the tournament in 2018. In 2019, OG won the championship again and this made Topson the first player to win 2 TIs. These are the two victories that have made him rich with earnings of about $5,413,446 so far. He is the 2nd highest Finnish player and the 4th highest European player.

Sebastien 'Ceb' Debs

Sebastien ‘Ceb’ Debs is an epic player of the game. He was born in France and joined Team Shakira to play DotA. He later joined mTw only to leave it and reform Shakira. He wasn’t able to do much with the team though and then formed DD Dota. Sebastien was later revived when he joined OG as their coach.

This gave OG three major wins. When OG didn’t do well in T16, many of its players left the team. Ceb then joined in as a player himself and won TIs back to back. He is the highest earning French player and the 3rd highest European to win big. His earnings so far have been $5,488,233.

Anathan 'Ana' Pham

The highest Australian player, Anathan ‘Ana’ Pham has been on the eSports circuit from an early age. He moved to Shanghai when he was 16 and played for Chinese teams like CDEC as well as Invictus Gaming. He later joined Team OG where he won the first Valve Major – The Boston Major.

Even though Ana went on to win the T17 at The Kiev Major, he took a break. Later he was part of OG to win the T18 and T19. He has so far made a total earning of $6,000,411 and is the highest-earning eSports player excluding Europe.

Jesse 'Jerax' Vainikka

Jesse Vainikka is a Finnish eSports player who is also the highest-earning player from this region. He started off with the original DotA game and then went on to play DotA 2. He joined the team MVP.Hot6ix but moved on to 5Jungz (Team Liquid). Here he played at The Internationals 2016 but didn’t do well.

This was the reason he left and joined OG. With OG he won two Majors back to back and became the first to play in four Major finals consecutively. He and the team won the T18 and T19 with great success and this made him quite rich. His total earnings so far are $6,470,000.

Johan 'NOtail' Sundstein

Johan Sundstein with his total earnings of $6,890,591 is the highest-earning eSports and Danish eSports player. He started off with DotA in the European team, then Team Secret and later Cloud9. Notail joined Fly to form Team OG. They won four Valve Major Victories in 2015. There was a bit of a lull till 2018.

When Fly left OG, Notail created a new roster and this helped them to win the next two TIs. Due to this, he has won six Valve games, four Majors and two The Internationals. Johan is sure to cross more boundaries with his team and create history again.
