Well, this kinda came out of nowhere but Nicki seems motivated by wanting to become a mother, plus it appears that she's had it with the trolls out there.

We're hoping that this is simply a hiatus and that the rapper will be back somewhere down the road; if she really is done then she's Andrew Lucked us here and is stepping away from a remarkable career. The 36-year-old, who hails from Trinidad and Tobago, became the first female rapper to officially sell 100 million units across her albums, singles and features this year. That is according to the Recording Association of America.

She's been nominated for 10 Grammys and got a Guinness World Record in 2017 for having the most Billboard Hot 100 entries by a female artist. She also earned five MTV Music Awards during her metier.

Nicki has since deleted her announcement and has also apologized for what she admits is an "abrupt & insensitive" tweet, vowing that the decision will be discussed on her show Queen Radio soon enough.

“I’m still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be," she said in response to a distraught fan. "I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe."

Per TMZ, Nicki and her boyfriend Kenneth Petty got a marriage license a good while back and she's referred to him as her husband. However, there's no confirmation over whether they've actually gotten wed.

It certainly seems like the couple are looking to start a family of their own and Nicki reckons that stepping away from her music career is the best thing to do.
