'Iron Man' Style Jet Suit To Take Flight In 2019

Iron Man has become more than just a cinematic phenomenon; it’s becoming a reality! Well, not the film itself, but at least the suit.

According to DailyMail, a jet-suit similar to that of Iron Man’s has been created and will be participating in its very own race as of next year. The suit was created by a British scientist that includes features such as a jet engine-powered pack that hurtles through the sky at nearly 32 mph.

The suit is expected to be unveiled at an airborne race within the New Year, racing against other participants with similar suits. Although this particular suit doesn’t have laser abilities and explosive features, it remains to be a lot cooler than your standard suit and tie. Inventor Richard Browning revealed that the Iron Man suit would begin racing in 2019, featuring men and women from different sporting backgrounds.

Browning himself was recorded wearing the record-breaking suit and taking to the skies in a demonstrating at Bentwaters Park, in Woodbridge, Suffolk. As for the race to come, Browning said: “The idea of a race around a kind of air race circuit, in three dimensions with 1,000 horse-power jet suits, it’s going to be astounding and phenomenal,” he said. The suit itself is all black and looks quite futuristic if we say so ourselves.

It is made up of five miniature jet engines mounted on the pilot’s arms and back, and is constantly compared to the famous suit worn by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel trilogy. This suit was also declared to be the world’s fastest speed in a body-controlled jet engine power suit by Guinness World Records. The record was made at Lagoona Parkin Reading, England, where the suit achieved a whopping speed of 32.02mph.

The best part about all this is that the suit is actually on sale to the public! Browning put the jet suit on sale in various London department stores this past July for $443,360, talk about a hefty price tag! The suit weighs on average 49lbs, and has an altitude limit of 12,000 feet, which is quite impressive!

If we could get our hands on one of these bad boys, you bet that we definitely would! Let us know if you’d partake in this race, or if the Iron Man-inspired suit is of any interest to you.
