Ed Sheeran Set To Perform At Royal Wedding

Ed Sheeran may be gracing the royal bride and groom to be with his impeccable voice.

The “Thinking Out Loud” singer will not only be in attendance for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and soon to be wife, Meghan Markle, but may also be scheduled to perform.

Sheeran, who showed a keen interest in singing at the Royal Wedding come this May, has been approached my Prince Harry himself and taken up on his offer. According to NME, “Prince Harry has personally requested Ed perform at his wedding”.

As insane an experience that may be, it looks like it’s going to be a chaotic weekend for Sheeran. The wedding, set for May 19, 2018, falls on the same day of Sheeran’s third show at Dublin’s Phoenix Park. Due to the Dublin show, many ticket holders are worried Sheeran will announce a canceled show.

We're not sure how the “Shape Of You” singer will pull that one off, but major props to him if he does! Other big names reportedly set to perform at the Royal Wedding include Elton John, who has since canceled two of his Las Vegas shows in order to attend the ceremony.

In regards to performing, Sheeran was previously asked whether he’d be willing to sing at the wedding or not when he received an MBE by Prince Charles in December, he was quick to tell reporters, “Yeah, why not?”

Sam Smith, another big name, said it would be “a dream” to sing for the couple, although we’ve yet to hear of any speculation surrounding Smith and a potential performance.

During Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 wedding, Ellie Goulding took the stage to sing a cover of Elton John’s “Your Song” known to be one of late Princess Diana’s favorite songs, so fingers crossed for Sheeran!

If singer-songwriter Sheeran were to perform at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s lavish Royal Wedding, we couldn’t imagine a more suited singer to serenade the bride and groom to be.
