The Star Wars saga is more than just a long-running movie franchise- it has spawned numerous comics, spin-offs, animated television shows, novelizations, and even merchandise. While the "new" trilogy (whose concluding episode "Rise of Skywalker" is set to be released later this year) has its fair share of familiar faces- Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Princess Leia- all played by the original actors, it has also provided the perfect platform to showcase Hollywood's newest and upcoming talent.
Listed below are the estimated net worths of the most prominent cast members of the new Star Wars trilogy. Read on to find out if your favorite character from a galaxy far away, is the richest of them all!
10 Kelly Marie Tran (Rose)- $3 Million
Kelly Marie Tran's character Rose teamed up with Finn in the second installment The Last Jedi, and we saw the duo share a lot of screen time and sizzling chemistry with each other. Although the Star Wars stint pushed her to stardom, she's been active since 2011, appearing in numerous television shows and short films such as Comedy Bang! Bang! (2015) , College Humor Originals (2014-2016), Hot Girls On The Beach (2011) and XOXO (2016), among several others.
However, being one of the first and very few women of color to appear in Star Wars, her journey has been far from smooth. The racist harassment and bullying from fans who disliked her character prompted her to delete her Instagram and go "down a spiral of self-hate"- but since then, she's fought back and she's confirmed to reprise her role for the last installment. Way to go, girl!
9 John Boyega (Finn)- $6 Million
Playing the role of the resourceful Finn-another one of the key protagonists of the new trilogy- John Boyega is certainly not new to sci-fi. Long before The Force Awakens (2015) was even released, he received numerous nominations for his role in the sci-fi comedy Attack on the Block (2011).
Boyega also has his very own production company which he formed in 2016 and which co-produced Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018). He also starred in that film, playing the role of Jack Pentecost.
8 Daisy Ridley (Rey)- $6 Million
Daisy Ridley is perhaps most famous for her portrayal of the character of Rey- the fiesty, strong-willed orphan girl- who's become the face of the new Star Wars trilogy and the perfect role model for countless girls, but it certainly wasn't her debut role in Hollywood.
She's had minor roles in a number of short films before playing the mysterious Hannah in the supernatural horror-thriller Scrawl (2015). She's also appeared in Murder on the Orient Express (2017), voiced Cottontail in an adaptation of Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit (2018) and is slated to play Viola Eade in Chaos Walking (2020) which is based on the novels by Patrick Ness.
Oh, and she's also a jazz singer.
7 Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux)- $7 Million
Domhnall Gleeson plays another of the bad guys- General Hux- in the new trilogy, and now that Supreme Leader Snoke is dead, there's definitely going to be some interesting power dynamics between him and Kylo Ren.
And in case you were wondering why this Irish actor suddenly looked so familiar, it's because you've seen him before- he played Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter films. In fact, acting is something that was probably in his genes, as his father Brendan played the role of Alastor Moody in the films.
6 6 . Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron)- $10 Million
Oscar Isaac may look pretty young in his role as the impulsive resistance pilot in the new trilogy, but don't let looks deceive you.
This 40-year-old Guatemalan-born American actor has been in showbiz for quite some time, making his debut way back in 1996 with the crime drama film Illtown. He's appeared in films like Sucker Punch (2011) X-Men: The Apocalypse (2016), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), Robin Hood (2010) and is slated to appear in the much-anticipated The Addam's Family later this year, as well as in Dune (2020).
5 Adam Driver (Kylo Ren/Ben Solo)- $10 Million
Kylo Ren may be one of the best and complex villains we've seen on the screen in a really long time- all thanks to the brilliant acting by Adam Driver who initially rose to prominence by playing an emotionally unstable boyfriend in the comedy-drama series Girls. Prior to that, Driver's served in the Marine Corps, appeared in Broadway productions and made his film debut in J. Edgar(2011), directed by Clint Eastwood.
He's also worked with indie filmmaker Jim Jarsmauch, playing a bus driver-cum-poet in his romantic drama Paterson (2016) and will also appear in his zombie comedy The Dead Don't Die this year.
4 Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker)- $18 Million
Mark Hamill rose to prominence playing Luke Skywalker, but here's the twist, he wasn't even planning on getting that role. In fact, he'd been auditioning for a spot in Apocalypse Now, when Roger Englund impressed with his performance suggested he audition for Star Wars as well. And the rest, they say, is history.
He's also famous for his voice work as The Joker in the animated Batman series and he also co-wrote The Black Pearl comics, published under the Dark Horse imprint.
And although we may have seen the last of Luke's character arc in The Last Jedi, Hamill is still in the cast list of the final film and we wonder what other secrets the old man still has left.
3 Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia)- $25 Million
Playing the ever-graceful and charismatic Princess Leia both in the original and the new trilogies, Carrie Fisher's untimely death in 2016 was an irreparable loss. Nevertheless, she'll still make an appearance in Rise of Skywalker with the help of unreleased footage from the first two films.
Since 1975, she's appeared in a number of films including When Harry Met Sally (1989), Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) and she has also written some semi-biographical novels such as Postcards From The Edge ( 1987) and even a play called Wishful Drinking (2006).
2 Andy Serkis (Supreme Leader Snoke)- $28 Million
Although a veteran British actor, Andy Serkis is most famous for his voice work for the character of Gollum in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films, directed by Peter Jackson. But Gollum and Supreme Leader Snoke are not the only villain-oriented roles that he's portrayed- he played Ulysses Klause in both Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and Black Panther (2018).
He's also directed the film Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle (2018), and even wrote a memoir that details his experience of playing Gollum called "Gollum: How We Made Movie Magic" in 2004.
1 Harrison Ford (Han Solo)- $230 Million
Han Solo and Indiana Jones helped to consolidate Harrison Ford's place in Hollywood as a bankable actor capable of delivering high-grossing blockbuster hits without fail. In fact, Ford's films have grossed over $8.9 million worldwide and the numbers keep on rising.
He's also starred in the noir-esque cyberpunk film Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott and is also a licensed pilot. And in a very Indiana Jones kind of a twist, it turns out that he also supports professional archeologists by serving as a board member in the Governing Board of the Archaeological Institute of America. And he even has another Indiana Jones movie coming up in 2021!
