Britney Spears is “angry” over child support battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
Spears and Federline were married from 2004 to 2007 and share two songs together, Sean and Jayden Federline. The couples marriage and split made headlines in every major publication and was the talk of the town. Over a decade later, Federline is insisting on re-opening the case to get more of a bang for his buck.
According to E!, Federline is currently being represented by top celebrity divorce attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, in hopes of winning his case. With the help from Kaplan, Federline is hoping to reopen the existing child support order from the time Spears and Federline were filing for divorce.
It is said that: “Kevin is trying to voluntarily revisit a modification of the existing child support number, given that the kids are older and the financial circumstances of the parties are significantly different than when the child support was originally resolves,” a source from E! reveals.
Sounds like Britney’s major success with her Las Vegas residency titled "Piece Of Me" and upcoming tour is attracting the attention from ex Federline. However, this news isn’t sitting well with Spears at all! Spears raked in more than $137 million during her residency in Vegas but isn’t buying his reasoning.
Federline wants more in addition to his already $20,000 monthly child support “to recognize the sacrifices he’s made,” according to Us Weekly. Britney, who isn’t budging, admits, “she’s angry Kevin is asking for more money because she pays for everything,” says on Us insider. “Those boys are her world. She is an amazing mother,” the source continues, and we don’t doubt that for a second.
Spears lost full custody of her children to Federline back in 2007 amidst her highly publicized breakdown, however, “Kevin has always allowed for liberal visitation” and “has been supportive of her recovery,” says the insider.
Flash-forward over a decade and Spears is doing better than ever! The source revealed how, although music is important, “her job as their mom is the most important role in their life.” Spears may be busy with work as a mother and pop icon, but she can see right through Federline. The rapper has four other children to support, and according to the source, “Britney feels as if she is paying for them also.”
We’re not sure where this will go, but it doesn’t seem as if Spears will be agreeing to any increase in child support anytime soon!
