It’s splitsville for Mac Miller and Ariana Grande.

It wasn’t meant to be. Pop singer and former actress Ariana Grande and rapper slash record producer Mac Miller have announced that their relationship is at an end after nearly two years of bliss.

The two announced they were dating in the summer of 2016 when they were spotted outside of Katsuya restaurant in Encino California holding hands and kissing. Since then the pair has appeared in numerous songs from each other, with Grande appearing in the song "My Favorite Part" from Miller’s 2016 album The Divine Feminine, while Miller appeared in both “The Way” and a remix of “Into You” by Grande.

Miller was also present during the Manchester Arena bombing last year, when a suicide bomber exploded a homemade shrapnel bomb after Grande’s concert, killing 23 and injuring many more. Both Miller and Grande played at the One Love Manchester benefit concert following the tragedy.

Grande’s first song since the bombing was recently released last month. Titled “No Tears Left To Cry,” Grande said in a tweet that she hopes the “song brings you light and comfort but also makes you wanna dance and live ya best life!”

Miller replied to the post with a tweet of his own, welcoming her back to the music business. "Very proud of this girl right here,” the rapper tweeted. “Welcome back. We missed you. One of a kind."

However, sources speaking with TMZ said that the schedules of both musicians were getting in the way far too much for their relationship to work. "Our sources say the ex-couple love each other dearly and that will continue to be the case but, again ... just as close friends."

Grande updated her Instagram Story today with a message directed at Miller. "Hi! This is one of my best friends in the whole world and favorite people on the planet Malcolm McCormick," Grande wrote. "I respect and adore him endlessly and am grateful to have him in my life in any form, at all times regardless of how our relationship changes or what the universe holds for each of us!

"Unconditional love is not selfish. It is wanting the best for that person even if at the moment, it's not you," she continued. "I can't wait to know and support you forever and I'm so proud of you!!"
