Amy Schumer Sent To Hospital With Kidney Issue

Amy Schumer is in the hospital thanks to a kidney infection.

Schumer was supposed to be on the road (or should we say in the air?) in London opening for her new movie I Feel Pretty, but instead she’s been laid up in the hospital. And it looks very uncomfortable.

“Here’s what I’ve been up to this week,” writes Schumer on her Instagram account. “I was hospitalized for 5 days with a horrible kidney infection.”

As any good comedian does, Amy then makes light of her situation and how incredibly red her face looks in her selfies. “I wanted to share this with you because this is sexy as hell but mostly because I was meant to go to London for the opening of I Feel Pretty and my doctors have told me that’s a no go. I’m really disappointed selfishly to miss this trip because I love London and Europe in general and all the great people (food) there.”

I Feel Pretty has actually been out in the US since April 20th, but movies get different release dates depending on what’s going on in the country it’s being released in. The movie stars Schumer who plays an insecure woman who one day suffers a brain injury and gains incredible self-confidence, believing that she is very pretty and everyone around her is attracted to her. Hilarity ensues.

The movie has mixed reviews, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 34% as of the time of this writing. But the movie is on its way to breaking even in North America, and that’s what producers care about most.

Schumer went on to thank her friends, family, and new husband, “who’s name is, I want to say, Chris?”

“I am so grateful for all the support the movie is getting. I hope people check it out in England and everywhere else in the world. It’s sweet and fun and you will walk out feeling better. Which is something I hope to feel soon too,” she wrote.

Hopefully, Amy recovers quickly and can get back to making average comedies.
