Brad Pitt is a Hollywood A-lister better known for his roles in iconic films such as Thelma & Louise, Fight Club, Fury, Inglourious Basterds, Seven, and Legends of the Fall. He is also known for leaving his beautiful ex-wife Jennifer Aniston for the actress Angelina Jolie whom he met on set of Mr & Mrs Smith.

Nowadays however Pitt is perhaps best known for his troubled romantic life – unfortunately, Jolie’s and Pitt’s marriage did not last and the two are currently amidst divorce proceedings. Rumor has it that Pitt is currently secretly hooking up with his ex-wife Aniston and that George Clooney is their wingman.

But while Pitt’s failed marriage is currently all over the news, let’s look at some of the other things that we may have forgotten about the handsome actor and heartthrob, as well as the one thing that none of us can ever forget.

He Used To Dress Up As A Chicken

When we see Brad Pitt in movies and in the media today we rarely remember that before he made it as an actor he had a job that many of us would consider normal, if not slightly embarrassing.

You see, back in the day Pitt worked as a mascot for a restaurant in Hollywood known as El Pollo Loco which meant dressing up as a huge chicken in an effort to attract customers to the restaurant.

At the time, Pitt was trying to make it in Hollywood after having dropped out of the University of Missouri where he studied journalism.

He Was Also A Chauffeur

We’ve already mentioned that Brad Pitt used to work as a restaurant mascot which meant dressing up as a huge chicken. But of course, this job wasn’t quite enough to pay the bills so Pitt worked countless of other strange jobs.

For example, Pitt also worked as a chauffeur for night workers. It certainly wasn’t the best job in the world. Pitt said – “My job was to drive them to bachelor parties and things. I’d pick them up, and at the gig I’d collect the money, play the bad Prince tapes and catch the girls’ clothes. It was not a wholesome atmosphere, and it got very depressing.”

Still, Pitt has to thank one of them for his acting career – “This girl – I’d never met her before – was in an acting class taught by a man named Roy London [an acting coach]. I went and checked it out, and it really set me on the path to where I am now.”

He Started Off His Acting Career As An Extra

Brad Pitt didn’t just suddenly land a huge role on his first try in Hollywood. Initially he was cast as an extra in the 1987 film Less Than Zero which starred famous actors such as Robert Downey Jr., James Spader and Andrew McCarthy. The movie was actually based on a book written by the author and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis.

In the film, Pitt plays a minor role of “Partygoer/ Preppie Guy at Fight.” He wasn’t even credited for the role and he didn’t get paid much for it either – at the end of the day he took home only $38.

Thelma & Louise Was His Big Break But He Almost Didn’t Get The Role

Pitt’s big break came when he landed the role of J.D in the cult classic Thelma & Louise which was released in 1991. He performed his role enviably well and indeed, nowadays we can’t imagine anyone but Pitt in the role of J.D.

But few of us recall that Pitt almost didn’t get the role as a number of other, much more famous actors such as Robert Downey Jr., were considered for the role instead (rumor has it that Downey Jr. was deemed too short for the role however).

Indeed, the actor William Baldwin was initially cast for the role of J.D but dropped out when he was offered a role in Backdraft instead.

he is not immune

Sometimes we forget that celebrities also go through dark times in their lives. No one is immune to depression, not even famous actors such as Brad Pitt.

For example, in the 1990’s Pitt did not feel particularly good about his life but thankfully got back into acting and left the dark period behind him. He said - "I got really sick of myself at the end of the 90s: I was hiding out from the celebrity thing; I was smoking way too much dope; I was sitting on the couch and just turning into a doughnut; and I really got irritated with myself. 'What's the point? I know better than this.”

He Starred In The Soap Opera Dallas

It was in 1987 that Brad Pitt scored his first ever acting gig on the primetime soap opera Dallas. Pitt appeared in four episodes of the show – between 1987 and 1988 – where he played the character of a guy named Randy, the boyfriend of Charlie Wade (played by the actress Shalane McCall).

Photos from a photoshoot from the 80’s were recently released and show the 23 years old Pitt posing alongside McCall who was 15 years old at the time. Indeed, it was on this show that Pitt had his first ever on-screen kiss with his on-screen (and according to some rumors off-screen) girlfriend McCall.

He Takes His Acting Very Seriously

There’s a reason why Brad Pitt has become such a famous actor – he is good at his job. But it’s not just his talent that makes him wonderful to work with – he actually takes acting very seriously and does everything he can to be as prepared for a role as possible.

For example, for his role as Tyler Durden in 1999 film Fight Club, Pitt went to the dentist and had his front teeth chipped off. Thankfully, he fixed his teeth after the shooting was over.

Another film that Pitt went to extreme lengths to prepare for was the 1995 film Twelve Monkeys. To get ready for his role as the manic Jeffrey Goines, Pitt spent a whole day at a ward in a Philadelphia mental health clinic.

He Starred In A Pringles Commercial

We’ve already mentioned that before Brad Pitt was a heartthrob and an A-lister, he took on odd jobs such as a chauffeur for night club workers and a restaurant mascot. However, it is also worth mentioning that Pitt also appeared in commercials, such as a 1989 vintage Pringles commercial.

Pitt was only 26 years old when he very suddenly and unexpectedly became the face of Pringles. In the commercial, a group of guys are driving around when they realize that they ran out of Pringles. Suddenly, their car breaks and they pull over. One of the guys looks through the Pringles can and spots a group of girls with lots of Pringles. The guys and the girls get together and the guys eventually drive off in a magically fixed car. What can we say, Pitt looked great in the commercial.

He got the same title twice

Brad Pitt was, and still is, a very handsome man. Indeed, there’s no denying that his good looks helped in getting him where he is now. So it comes as no surprise that Pitt was named “S*xiest Man Alive” not once but twice!

Pitt first received the title in 1995 after he starred in films such as Interview with the Vampire and Legends of the Fall. Five years later, in 2000, Pitt received the title once more and there’s no doubt that his performance in films such as Fight Club helped him snatch it!

Indeed, few remember that the actor was actually the first man to be given the title twice, making him a timeless actor.

He Was Banned From Entering China

Remember that time when Brad Pitt was banned from China? Apparently back in the 1990’s the Chinese authorities seriously disliked the 1997 film Seven Years in Tibet in which Pitt played the role of an Austrian mountaineer Heinrich Harrer.

Thus, the Chinese government apparently banned Pitt from entering China. Still, the ban was not going to last a lifetime and indeed two years ago - in 2016 - Pitt made a promotional appearance in China where he spent almost an hour giving autographs to his Chinese fans as well as almost half an hour at a media event.

He Sued a company

Brad Pitt is a handsome man but back in the day he was more than that – he was a heartthrob. So it came as no surprise that when the magazine Playgirl got its hands on nude photos of the actor, it decided to publish them in their August 1997 issue. The headline of the issue screamed “Brad Pitt Nude.”

Pitt was not at all happy with the photographs being printed and sued the magazine. Apparently, the pictures were taken by the paparazzi in 1995 when Pitt was on holidays on the island of St. Barthelemy with his then girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.

The judge ordered to cease delivery of further copies of the offensive edition but did not order to recall the issues already sent to subscribers.

He Made A Guest Appearance On Friends While He Was Married To Jennifer Aniston

The iconic TV series Friends, which remains wildly popular to this day, had a number of famous cameos, including the actor Brad Pitt. Indeed, Pitt must have been one of the most famous guest star on the set of Friends.

At the time, Pitt was married to the actress Jennifer Aniston, who played Rachel Green on the show. It was probably Aniston herself who roped Pitt into guest-appearing on the show.

Pitt appeared in episode 9 season 8 of Friends and played the role of a guy who was the president of “I Hate Rachel Green Club” in school, of which Ross Geller, Rachel’s love interest on the show, was also a part of.

He Thinks He Suffers From A Disease That Prevents Him From Remembering Faces

If you have trouble remembering people’s faces, you’re not alone. The actor Brad Pitt is also terrible at remembering people’s faces which has led him to believe that he may suffer from a disease called prosopagnosia, also known as face blindness.

Pitt said – “So many people hate me because they think I'm disrespecting them," Pitt told the magazine. "I took one year where I just said, This year, I'm just going to cop to it and say to people, 'OK, where did we meet?' But it just got worse. People were more offended. ...You get this thing, like, 'You're being egotistical. You're being conceited.' But it's a mystery to me, man. I can't grasp a face, and yet I come from such a design/aesthetic point of view. I am going to get it tested."

He Speaks Japanese

Brad Pitt is not only an extremely good-looking man and talented actor, he is also intelligent – he knows the importance of learning languages and can actually speak Japanese. Of course, his Japanese is not fluent by any means but he can carry on a conversation which is more than most people can do.

What can we say, we are pretty impressed with this fact especially seeing how most of us struggle with relatively simple European languages such as French. Other actors who can speak Japanese or some variation of it include Steven Seagal, Edward Norton and Natalie Portman.

He Designed His Own Furniture

When we think of Brad Pitt we immediately associate him with movies. And while that certainly makes sense – he is an actor after all – we should also remember that he has other talents as well, such as design.

Indeed, Pitt is seriously interested in design – he regularly attends design shows, he once became an apprentice of an architect and he took it upon himself to design a wedding ring for Jennifer Aniston. So it only made sense when a few years ago Pitt collaborated with the furniture maker Frank Pollaro to design a limited edition of luxurious furniture.

One People Won't Ever Forget -  He Left Jennifer Aniston For Angelina Jolie

Of course, the one thing people will never forget about the actor Brad Pitt is that he left his wife Jennifer Aniston for the actress Angelina Jolie whom he met on set of the film Mr & Mrs Smith. Apparently, their romance started when Pitt was still married to Aniston.

Most people saw this turn of events as the highest act of betrayal on Pitt's part. However, these people can now rejoice for Pitt and Jolie are currently in the middle of divorce proceedings and rumor has it that Pitt and Aniston are secretly seeing each other again. Wouldn't that be just a reunion people would love to see in the tabloids.
