There aren't enough words to properly describe just how successful the Black Panther movie is. As of April 1st, the movie will have made roughly $650 million in North America. You can tally on another $600 or so million from other countries for a staggering total of over $1.2 billion.

As you'll read, Chadwick Boseman's transformation into the role of T'Challa was no easy feat but as you'll read, it's the role he dreamed of playing his entire life. Which makes it all the more amazing that he was offered the role in Captain America: Civil War without even having to audition.

It's clear that no matter where you go in the world, people are bowing down to the king of Wakanda. Something that isn't going to exactly decrease when Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters at the end of April. But with a contract that locks him in for at least 5 Marvel movies, at least you can rest easy that the King isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

He Shares Great Photos From The Set

One of the most talked about movies of 2018 is Black Panther. Which makes it even cooler that the lead of the movie, Chadwick Boseman, is more than happy to share some awesome photos from behind the set with the millions of people who follow him on Instagram.

While people will perhaps give Boseman as the biggest reason for the success of the film, he was definitely just one part of what was a very big machine that came together to create the spectacle of Black Panther.

Photos like this show a small side of what making the movie may look like and help fans get even more immersed in the material. We're sure that when Black Panther 2 starts filming that Boseman will also not be shy about sharing some unbelievable photos of the movie to help add to the buzz.

He Has Stayed Out Of Trouble

One of the quickest ways to have the public turn against you is to involve yourself in a scandal. After all, just ask Kevin Spacey how his career has been doing! Part of Chadwick Boseman's appeal may come from the fact that he has done no bad things.

Despite a career that has been going on for over a decade, Boseman has managed to always keep himself free of nasty tabloid stories.

This includes making sure there aren't any photos out there of him forgetting how much he should drink in public, and definitely no saucy past relationship details that have emerged. And that's a man that is very easy for society to root for, especially with so many beloved actors losing their status as role models in 2017/2018.

He Is So Perfect He Didn't Even Audition

There aren't more franchises that are more important to join than the Marvel one. Which may make you it all the more shocking to read that Chadwick Boseman didn't even need to audition for the role. He was just that impressive to the casting team and Kevin Feign, who is the president of Marvel Studios.

When talking about the decision to cast him, Feign stated,

“I think it was 24 hours between saying his name in a creative story meeting and talking to his agent and getting on the phone with him."

Boseman also admitted to accepting the role over speakerphone because he was busy doing press for the film Get On Up.

He Loves The Source Material 

One of the most important things for an actor who is joining the superhero universe to understand is all the in's and outs of the character. Which means boning up on some educational reading in the form of some of the best comic books of all-time.

Boseman admitted in an interview with Variety that he was incredibly dedicated to tracking down as many issues as he could.

And while he states he could have had them delivered for free from Marvel, he enjoyed the process. Boseman also admitted to trying to be stealth by wearing a hat and sunglasses, but once you buy a stack of Black Panther magazines, people clued into who he was. If he thought it was hard before the movie came out, it's going to be downright impossible to do now, so let's hope he made sure to stock up!

He Goes Out Of His Way To Help Sick Children

Chadwick Boseman isn't just a superhero on the screen, but also in the way he conducts himself in his personal life. One of the more touching stories came out this past April when it was revealed that Boseman made a special visit to a young boy who unfortunately has an incurable brain tumor.

When talking about the impact of Boseman's visit to her son, the mother stated,

“So, for him to have a moment like this, and be able to jump up, I was afraid he might fall, and run to him and hug his hero, is, there really aren't words."

Many other members of the superhero universe, such as Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans, have also worked extensively to help children who are suffering and want to meet their hero.

He Was Unforgettable As Jackie Robinson

One of the most iconic figures in African-American culture is Jackie Robinson who helped break the color barrier in the game of baseball. When talking about the honor of playing such an influential person, Boseman stated,

“This is like playing Abraham Lincoln, a president, Muhammad Ali It’s a no-brainer that you would want to do it.”

When describing the character, Boseman went on to say, "He was a fighter; he was a warrior, so he had to find other ways of fighting, other ways of battling this than responding in a way that would be detrimental to him and actually detrimental to the rest of his race.” Critics also responded positively to the film giving it a rating of 79% on Rotten Tomatoes.

He Celebrates Other People's Success

One of the best reasons as to why it is so easy to cheer for Chadwick Boseman is that he seems like a tremendous person who is never afraid to boost up others. This includes people that he hasn't even worked with, such as Ava DuVernay who directed the film Wrinkle In Time.

Boseman took to his Instagram account to share this photo of Ava along with the message,

"Google searches for female directors spiked in 2017, so #InternationalWomensDay is the perfect time to celebrate a visionary, awe-inspiring queen."

He went on with, "I hope to continue to see more progress on and off screen, and make sure you head to theaters this weekend to check out #AvaDuVernay’s beautiful new film." We're sure there are countless people in the industry who are just as happy to celebrate the success of Boseman.

He Keeps Pushing Himself To Be Better

One of the most important life lessons for you to learn is to be able to stay in the moment. If you spend too much time looking at the potential future plans or focusing on the past, you'll miss what is beautiful about the moment in front of you.

But don't take it from me, take it from Boseman. When discussing the potential of sequels to Black Panther, Boseman stated,

“I’m enjoying this moment. If we start talking about sequels — if we do four of them, two of them, three of them — I just want them all to be special like this one.”

While there is no question that the bar is incredibly high for whenever he steps back into Wakanda, there is also no question that people will flock to theaters to go and see it.

He Is Incredible In Get On Up

Chadwick Boseman had many qualities that made him a tremendous candidate to play the legendary singer James Brown in the film Get On Up. Thankfully, one of which is a great singing voice.

The director of the film, Tate Taylor, later admitted in an interview with The Guardian that while there was pressure on him to cast a rapper in the role, but after meeting with him, the only actor he was willing to consider for the role was Chadwick Boseman.

The movie scored 80% on Rotten Tomatoes with the critical consensus also highlighting Boseman, "With an unforgettable Chadwick Boseman in the starring role, Get On Up offers the Godfather of Soul a fittingly dynamic homage."

He Has a Past Littered With Good Deeds

When you start digging more into the past of certain celebrities, you don't always come away with the best information that makes you respect them more. But when Chadwick Boseman's former pastor was asked about how Boseman acted while growing up, the pastor replied,

"He did a lot of positive things within the church and within the community. With him singing in the choir, with him working the youth group, he always was doing something, always helping out, always serving. That was his personality."

Boseman has been open about the role of faith in his life, including admitting that he prayed that he would one day land the role of Black Panther. We're sure a solid portion of the financial boon that he makes from the Black Panther role will be used to help make the world a better place.

He Is Loved By The Black Panther Cast

Can you imagine the drama that would emerge if it came out that Chadwick Boseman was difficult to work with on set? Don't worry though, he's as fantastic as you'd expect him to be. Lupita Nyong'o who plays his off-and-on girlfriend in the film opened up with E! about how amazing it was to work with Boseman,

"Chadwick is truly a magnetic person. He's magnetic! That was something I didn't have to work very hard at—in fact, what I had to work hard at was pulling back. Because Nakia, she's not there. She's not here anymore—not yet. It's complicated. Their Facebook status is 'It's Complicated.'"

When Michael B. Jordan (who plays Killmonger) was asked by Rolling Stone about working with Boseman, he replied, "Chad gave a hell of a performance. I couldn't imagine anybody else." We're sure there are many people in Hollywood who would chop off a limb for the chance to work with Boseman!

He Was Awesome In Captain America: Civil War

While the world got to really fall in love with Chadwick Boseman in his stand-alone adventure Black Panther, that's not where we first got our eyes on the character. Boseman was one of the standout parts of the smash-hit Captain America: Civil War which went on to earn over $1 billion at the box office.

It was the 2nd movie that Boseman had appeared in by that point that earned over $100 million at the box office.

Though it's worth pointing out that the other one was Gods of Egypt which also starred Gerard Butler. While you may not blame Boseman for signing on, the movie ended up being one of his worst critically-reviewed performances and earned the reputation of being one of the worst movies of the year.

He Has Been Cheered Around The World

As indicated by the box office totals talked about in the introduction, people all around the world are seeing and falling in love with Chadwick Boseman's outstanding performance in Black Panther. Something that Chadwick is well aware of.

When attending a red carpet event for the film in Seoul, South Korea, Boseman also made sure to give a shoutout to his fans that were watching from India,

“Namaste India. Just enjoy the movie, I hope you love it, we have put our whole heart and soul for you. I hope I can come and see you all soon.”

We're sure that no matter where you go in the world you will also find a mob of people who can't stop talking about Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and some of the amazing things Boseman will do.

He Is Patriotic

There is definitely a strong divide in America at the moment depending on what political party you support. And while Chadwick Boseman hasn't been outspoken about his own political views, he has expressed his pride for being American on multiple occasions. This includes this past Memorial Day when Boseman uploaded a photo of an American flag at half-mast along with the quote,

"A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself." - Joseph Campbell. Thank you for all who have sacrificed."

Which regardless of what you feel about the current state of government is a sentiment that we're sure everyone can get behind! In case you are curious, Boseman was born in Anderson, South Carolina where he also helped set up a screening for kids.

He Put In Extreme Levels Of Dedication 

Chadwick Boseman had to work hard at the gym to physically transform himself into the role of T'Challa. This included several training styles, as described in an interview with RollingStone,

"For his fight scenes, he trained in African martial arts – Dambe boxing, Zulu stick fighting and Angolan capoeira."

The magazine also went on to describe how Boseman ended up taking two trips to South Africa in order to better research the role. Boseman also fought hard for the accent (that took extensive work to perfect) that he uses to be included in the film, stating,

"I felt there was no way in the world I could do the movie without an accent. But I had to convince [the studio] it was something we couldn't be afraid of. My argument was that we train the audience's ear in the first five minutes – give them subtitles, give them whatever they need – and I believe they'll follow it the same way they'll follow an Irish accent or a Cockney accent."
