Emma Watson is one of the most-loved celebs in Hollywood, so when she even looks in the direction of a man, it makes headlines. It’s not surprising then that everyone is speaking about the new man to have caught her eye (and maybe her heart), Chord Overstreet.

You may recognize his name, because he is the son of a country music legend but is also well-known for his role in the FOX series, Glee, and in March, the actor became known for something else— his romantic link to Watson. The pair were spotted holding hands in Los Angeles, just one week after they were seen leaving the Vanity Fair Oscars party together. The world is pretty much convinced that these two are a couple, and the photos which have emerged from their outing certainly seem to suggest that’s true.

Everyone is going gaga about Watson’s new relationship and they are desperate to know more, but perhaps the most important thing to know is that whatever man she dates must be pretty awesome because everyone’s always going to wonder if he’s deserving. Watson is an incredibly accomplished woman, which must be intimidating, and below are 15 reasons why she's in her own league.

Emma Watson Never Addresses Her Relationships, Chord Has

Something that sets Emma Watson apart from other celebs in Hollywood is how incredibly private she is when it comes to her relationships. There are some who choose to televise their weddings for the world to see, to discuss the ins-and-outs of their relationships whenever interviewed, and share countless photos of themselves on social media, but not Watson. Her decision may cause some frustration among fans who are desperate to find out more about her personal life, but Watson has made a point to stay mum in a bid to protect the men she dates.

Chord Overstreet, her rumored new boyfriend, is not one for sharing too much of his life either, but he did address his romance with Emma Roberts (pictured above) in December of 2011. During an interview with Ryan Seacrest (Via Entertainment Tonight), he said, "Everything's good right now— we have a blast together." He also addressed how serious it was saying, "I mean, we're having fun and we get along.”

Okay, he didn’t reveal every little detail, but it’s still different to Watson’s approach.

Chord’s Probably A Great Guy, But Emma Is A Passionate Activist

It seems unfair comparing anyone to Emma Watson, and although she seems genuinely happy with Chord Overstreet, you have to wonder if he’s as wonderful as she is (he’s probably pretty close). Overstreet seems to be a good guy, but we always expected Watson to end up with a man who was as passionate about activism as she is, after all, having similar interests makes for a great foundation for any relationship.

Watson is an accomplished actress, but in recent years it seems her activism comes first and her career in Hollywood second. In 2014, she was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, and shortly after she launched the UN Women campaign, HeForShe. She’s also showed her support for other female-led causes, including donating £1 million (roughly $1,404,650) to The Justice And Equality Fund.

Chord Dates Famous People; Emma Dates Normal Folks

Up until her relationship with Chord Overstreet, Emma Watson only dated regular people. She previously told Australia's Elle magazine, “I don't date people who are famous, and I don't think it's fair that all of a sudden, intimate details of their personal life are public as a direct result of me.” She added, “I wish I could protect them.”

Overstreet’s approach to relationships have been different, and he has been linked to a string of famous women over the years (not that that’s his fault because the heart wants what the heart wants). According to Whos Dated Who, among the women Overstreet has been linked to are Emma Roberts, Rumer Willis, and Brooke Butler. There are also rumors that he has been linked to the actress, Halston Sage, the Pretty Little Liars sta,r Ashley Benson, and the model, Elsa Hosk.

Gender Equality Is Something That’s Close To Emma’s Heart

In one of the aforementioned entries, we discussed Emma Watson’s activism and how she launched the HeForShe campaign for equality. It’s no secret that she is fighting for the rights of women around the world, but she is also trying to spread awareness and promote education around the issue by reminding people that it’s not a man-hating initiative. Which is why her campaign doesn’t only appeal to women, but to men, too.

Part of her speech, which was shared on the UN Women website, called to men to “take up this mantle.” She explained, “So their daughters, sisters, and mothers can be free from prejudice but also so that their sons have permission to be vulnerable and human too—reclaim those parts of themselves they abandoned and in doing so be a more true and complete version of themselves.”

Only One Of These Two Has A Clean Arrest Record

Chord Overstreet hasn’t done anything really bad to land him in trouble with the law, but he did seem to suggest that he had been arrested during the filming of FOX series Glee, back in 2014. The incident reportedly happened while filming in Times Square and according to Daily Mail, at the time, Overstreet shared a clip of himself saying, “Well this what you get for shooting in Times Square, getting booked at a police station... that's what you get.”

There is some confusion as to whether the actor did get in trouble, along with the crew, because it’s possible that he was just joking and that the Glee producers had sorted out all the necessary permits with the New York Police Department. Regardless, Emma Watson is squeaky clean.

With all the things that Emma Watson has accomplished in her 27 years, it’s hard to believe that she also found time to go to an Ivy League school. Then again, not everyone starts working when they are ten.

In 2009, after Watson’s Harry Potter fame, she enrolled at Brown University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English literature in 2014. She wanted to take a break from acting and try to live a more normal life, and the break did her good because she revealed to Vanity Fair in 2017, how she would walk down the red carpets with full makeup on and wearing big, fluffy dresses and not recognize herself. She said, “I’d put my hands on the sink and look at myself in the mirror and say, ‘Who is this?’ I didn’t connect with the person who was looking back at me, and that was a very unsettling feeling.”

Emma’s Got A Star On The Walk Of Fame...

It’s quite an achievement to have a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame when you’re a teenager, but thanks to their success with the Harry Potter franchise, Emma Watson and her co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, were granted this honor in 2007. They also got down on their hands and knees to imprint their hands, their feet, and their wands, outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

There are so many actors and actresses working in Hollywood who have not been awarded this honor, and some never will be, which really suggests that Watson is in a completely different league. Does that make her too good for Chord Overstreet? Of course not, but he must be a pretty confident and comfortable guy to be okay with his rumored girlfriend’s stardom outshining his own.

...Plus A Fair Trade Clothing Line

It’s hard to compare Chord Overstreet to Emma Watson because, despite him being successful in his own right, he is nowhere near as well-known as Watson. For this reason, it’s hard to know where his passions and interests lie, outside of music, which is he happy to speak about in interviews. But we do know that Watson cares about others, and she also cares about sustainable fashion.

In 2009, she joined forces with the fair trade fashion brand, People Tree, to design clothing for people aged 16 to 24 (so a young, hip group of individuals). The clothes are handmade by fair trade groups, which helps create jobs and livelihoods for those who are impoverished and disadvantaged. Watson served as the creative director for the capsule collection which including jersey dresses, T-shirts, shorts, knitwear, and poplin skirts.

Emma Had No Famous Connections In The Industry

Chord Overstreet is the son of the country music legend, Paul Overstreet, and although he is best known for his role as Sam Evans in the FOX series, Glee, he is now focusing on his music career. We have to give Overstreet credit where credit is due because he is exceptionally talented, but having connections in the music industry, and learning first-hand from his father what it was like to be apart of this world, probably didn’t hurt.

Emma Watson, on the other hand, is the daughter of two lawyers, so she didn’t have anyone to walk her through fame and what it entails. And she’s not just famous, she’s mega-famous and everyone knows her name thanks to her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise— and she was only 11 when the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, premiered in 2001.

Emma’s Childhood Idol Was Julia Roberts, Chord Dated Emma Roberts

In an above entry, we mentioned that Chord Overstreet has been linked to a few famous women over the years and among these women was Emma Roberts, the niece of Julia Roberts. The pair were first linked in 2011, after being spotted together at Coachella, and they are reported to have broken up nine months later, in January of 2012. Then, in April of 2012, they were rumored to have rekindled their romance, only to call it quits for good a month later.

The interesting connection here is that the woman Overstreet romanced is a family member to a woman that Emma Watson reportedly idolized. According to Zimbio, Watson previously told Daily Mirror, “My hero is Julia Roberts. As a child, I always wanted to be like her. She has a magnetic personality and smile."

She’s Been Named GQ’s Woman Of The Year

There have been many, many awards and titles that Emma Watson has received over the years, but one that stands out is being named GQ’s Woman Of The Year in 2013 (she’s been named many publications’ woman of the year). As for why the publication decided to bestow this honor upon the actress when she was just 23-years-old? Well, in addition to being an activist and feminist, she’s also a beautiful woman both inside and out.

The award was presented to her at an event at the Royal Opera House, and it was Tom Hiddleston who had the honor or introducing her. And she must have made an impression on him (like she does on everyone) because the following year, he tweeted his support for Watson and her HeForShe campaign, also mentioning how she was “impeccable & extraordinary.”

She Also Holds The Title Of Most Outstanding Woman

There are many exceptional women in this world, in fact, most women are exceptional in their own way, but Emma Watson has been publicly recognized with this title. In 2015, she topped AskMen’s 99 Most Outstanding Women list (closely followed by UFC champion, Ronda Rousey), but what is it that makes her so outstanding?

At this point on the list, you probably don’t need to be told that, but the online publication offered a bit of a refresher and listed some of the reasons why Watson is so loved. These include her work with the HeForShe campaign, which seeks gender equality for men and women; her charitable efforts and work as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, and her International Women’s Day speech, which discussed global education, equality, and the gender wage gap.

Chord Overstreet, you’re great, but there’s no competing with this!

She Is One Of The Highest-Paid Females

An issue in Hollywood that has been largely discussed in recent years is the discrepancy in pay between female and male actors. This is known as the gender wage gap (and it doesn’t just happen in Hollywood), and among the stars that are making noise about it, despite being highly-paid, is Watson.

Watson often speaks about gender equality, and during an interview with Esquire UK’s Men & Women issue (via ET Canada), she spoke about the wage gap, commenting on how women are afraid to speak out for fear that they will be labeled as being “difficult” or a “diva.” She also noted how this attitude is changing. She said, “But there’s a willingness now to be like, 'Fine. Call me a "diva", call me a "feminazi", call me "difficult", call me a "First World feminist," call me whatever you want, it’s not going to stop me from trying to do the right thing and make sure that the right thing happens.' Because it doesn’t just affect me, it affects all the other women who are in this with me, and it affects all the other men who are in this with me, too." Preach, sister!

She Just Wants To Be Normal

For a time after Emma Watson’s Harry Potter fame, she took a step away from the limelight and focused on her studies. She had grown tired of being in the public eye, and she revealed at the time, “I want to be normal. I really want anonymity.” Maybe this is partly why, up until now, she has chosen to spend her time with, and date, “normal” people.

She’s not normal, no matter how hard she may try, but this is yet another reason why Watson is loved by so many. She doesn’t want all the fuss made about her, rather she acts because she loves it, and she uses her fame as a platform for good and an opportunity to spread awareness for causes close to her heart. No one is saying Chord Overstreet doesn’t do good work, but he’s certainly not as well-known for it as Watson is...

You Cant Help But Love Her Stand For Feminism

Look, we’re not bashing Chord Overstreet here, rather, we are choosing to focus on Emma Watson and the many, many things that she has accomplished. One of these things has been her decision to spread awareness and understanding for feminism, and over the years she has been responsible for some incredibly powerful quotes.

In response to backlash about her Vanity Fair cover, which some considered to be too revealing, she said, “It just always reveals to me how many misconceptions and what a misunderstanding there is about what feminism is.” She also reminded people that the true meaning of feminism is about choice, adding, “Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It’s about freedom, it’s about liberation, it’s about equality…”
