It’s not surprising that Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are really good friends. The two are pretty big names in Hollywood, plus they are both pretty hilarious humans. The two decided to become friends because of their mutual friend Woody Harrelson who they got each other’s number from. They must have thought they were destined to be friends and when it came time to meet each other in person, things got a little interesting when they found out that they shared the same stalker.
"Jennifer Lawrence and I both had the same stalker, John the Orchestra Guy," Stone told W. "He would text us both and say things like, 'I'm running late on my way to the soundstage. Can you warm up the orchestra for me? Text me back and let me know you got this.' He wasn't really a stalker. He must have worked at a studio or something because he had a lot of people's numbers." That is both weird and creepy all rolled into one. It actually took a year of texting each other before they actually met in person, but have become the best of buds since then.
Whether they are having dinner with Adele or supporting each other on the red carpet, these two girls are #friendshipgoals.
15 They Get Silly On The Red Carpet Together
When the two walked the same red carpet for the 9th Annual Governor’s Awards, they were #friendshipgoals all the way. While Emma Stone was posing on the red carpet, Jennifer Lawrence walked up behind her and posed as if they were at the prom together. The photographers were quit to catch the photo before Lawrence walked out of the shot. It took a long time before these two met, but now that they have, it seems as if they were met to be friends. One thing is for sure, every time they hit the red carpet together, it’s a reason for us to laugh. Before they met, the two had to call each other just to make sure the stalker wasn’t behind their meeting.
"Jen and I texted for a year before we actually met. As she was driving to my house, she thought, 'Oh, my God, what if it's John the Orchestra Guy?' And I thought, 'Oh, my God, what if it's John the Orchestra Guy?'" Stone said.
"So, Jen calls me and says, 'I just want to make sure you're not John the Orchestra Guy.' I wasn't. And we met. It's our adorable love story."
14 They Don’t Let Awkwardness Get In The Way
When they first met in 2017, Emma Stone wasn’t prepared for the hug that came her way from Jennifer Lawrence. Instead of making the awkward moment even weirder, they brushed it off like it didn’t even happen. We've all had an awkward hug or two where there's nothing to do but laugh. These two are so chill, though, that the weird exchange didn’t even faze them. It takes some time for Stone to be ready for a hug, she’s had a few incidents where she has avoided a hug on the red carpet and this particular time was during the International Film Festival and their awkward exchange made us love them even more. It’s obvious that these two were meant to be friends because of their laid-back attitude.
13 That Time They Had Mexican Food With Adele
The two are just making friends all over the place. These three just look like a group of girls who are looking for a fun night on the town.
It’s funny how normal they seem in a photo like this one and yet, there are Oscar winners and a Grammy winner in the car.
Their night happened to include Mexican foods which make us instantly hungry just thinking about it. The three dined at Cosme Mexican restaurant in 2015 and we have to wonder how they got Adele to be part of their group. These girls must have a ball together because they are all known to be funny girls. It’s nice when you see girls banding together. There is a lot of competition in the industry and it’s always nice when you see girls empowering each other instead of competing.
12 Hilarity Ensues When They Do Interviews Together
W Magazine had the two together for an interview and what happened was a very candid look into the lives of these stars. They laughed as they talked about their first job (Jennifer Lawrence was a babysitter), and it was easy to see the two have amazing chemistry. Could you imagine having Lawrence as your babysitter? The two together are just like us when we are out with our best friends and that includes partying a little too hard.
"I don't really stay out late. I'm kind of a bummer. I'm a nana. It's hard to get me out, and when I do go out, I don't really stay out late. If I do stay out late and I'm partying hard,
I will throw up. I don't have the tolerance to black out; I just start puking," Lawrence said. "Ask Emma Stone. It was the night we saw Adele in L.A. She just started rubbing my back. She was really sweet. I was like, 'Get out of here. It's so gross.'" Could you even imagine Emma Stone holding Lawrence’s hair while she pukes?
11 They Go To Concerts Together
The two best friends and Woody Harrelson hit up an Adele concert together and that truly makes them #friendshipgoals all the way. Harrelson is, of course, a mutual friend to both of them and the whole reason they are friends to begin with. Jennifer Lawrence worked with Harrelson on the Hunger Games franchise while Emma Stone worked with him in Zombieland.
When the three of them go to a concert together, apparently things get a little crazy.
"Woody cut his foot," she added. "He stayed over in one of my guest bedrooms, but that's where I started puking. I broke a candle because I can't just puke like a normal person — I flay my arms everywhere. And I didn't clean it up because I'm an a**hole. The next day he cut his foot open. I was like, 'Am I going to get sued?' And he's like, 'Are you going to ask if I'm okay?' That night got crazy."
10 Their Own Love Story
It took awhile for these two to really cement their friendship, but they were clearly meant to be friends. Despite not even meeting for some time the two became fast friends. These two weren’t in The Notebook, but they definitely had a friendship that developed just like the relationship in the movie. Instead of getting a letter every day, it was a text message.
“I feel like it was our version of The Notebook — 365 texts," Lawrence joked to Vanity Fair.
Oddly enough, when the two got each other’s number, it still took them a year before they started hanging out. Maybe it was because of their busy schedules. They are both very busy actresses in the industry so it may have been hard to get together initially. In fact, they texted a whole year before they even met.
9 Emma Stone Gets Inspiration From Jennifer Lawrence
Isn’t this one of the reasons why we have best friends? They help us to be better people and they also inspire us to do things that we never thought that we could do. When it came to doing blockbuster movies like The Amazing Spider-Man, Emma Stone was a little hesitant about taking on such a big role. She wasn’t sure if she could handle it or what the media attention would be like afterward. When it comes to being a big star, you just have to get used to being in the media all the time.
The actress said she found strength in Jennifer Lawrence’s experience with being a blockbuster newcomer with Hunger Games. “I love Jennifer Lawrence and I watched a lot of her interviews for Hunger Games — it was kind of the same thing she was feeling.”
Stone realized that if Lawrence could do it then so could she.
8 They Love To Go On Trips Together
Having a celebrity best friend is no different then from the rest of us. Well, that is except for the millions of dollars in their bank account and the paparazzi swarming them wherever they go. But when Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone hang out together, they do the same things we all do with our best friends.
"We go on trips together, we hang out at each other's houses, watch stuff," Stone revealed to Rolling Stone. "I was over at Jen's place last month — we watched Hocus Pocus."
Just like us, these celebrities put on Netflix and chill together. They probably order pizza and each junk food as well. These two are awesome together and the fact that they can just do anything proves that they are real friends.
7 Emma And Jennifer Are Always Supporting Each Other
That’s part of being friends with someone, is that you support their career and their life. Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence are in the same industry, so they know what it’s like being in the limelight and being a successful actress. When it comes to supporting each others’ roles, the two of them are in it for the long haul.
They have no problem going to the screening of their movies to support each other. Stone was there to support Lawrence’s movie Mother!
She went to the screening of the movie and the two looked fabulous together. Not only are these two always cracking each other up, but they also make a striking duo when they are on the red carpet together. It’s so cool that they support each other and really try to go to the premieres and screening of their movies.
6 Jennifer Lawrence Calls Emma Stone Out In An Interview
Seriously these two are hilarious together and they definitely need to do a comedy together because it would be epic. Even when they aren’t together, they can’t help but think of each other. During a red carpet event, Jennifer Lawrence was being interviewed by E!’s famous mani-cam and instead of talking about her movies or the dress that she’s wearing, she decided to call out her best friend Emma Stone who wasn’t at the event. We’re not sure why she wasn’t there, though it’s possible that she had a scheduling conflict. She knew that her friend would be at home watching the event, so she called her out and said, "Your a--- is mine!” We imagine that Stone must have died laughing when she saw it and that’s the typical Lawrence humor out for show.
5 The Two Best Friends Are Constantly Kidding Around
It’s obvious that these two make great friends. They are great comedy actors in real life and we can see that it’s a natural thing for them in real life. So, when two comedy actors get together, it’s easy to see that they would have a lot of fun together. During an interview with W Magazine, the two decided to try to figure out what their adult film names would be. Jennifer Lawrence stated, “My name is Ozzie Ormond.” It seemed like her final answer when Emma Stone piped in with, “Ozzie Ormond and then I'm — well because I chose Chelsea and then I always thought that the street we were on was Thunderbird, but I think it was actually Wethersfield, so it's Chelsea Wethersfield, but Chelsea Thunderbird would've been the perfect name.”
4 The Two Forgive Each Other Easily
When it comes to being friends, sometimes plans aren’t always going to work out and you just have to go with the flow. After the 2018 Golden Globes, Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence were supposed to hit the after parties, but at the last minute, Stone decided that she would rather have a girls night in than out.
“Well, you had told me you wanted me to be your date to the after parties so I, you know, got us tickets to some after parties, booked a car, and I was halfway through glam when you told me you didn’t wanna go,” Lawrence said on the video.
“You just wanted to come over to my house, so I sent my hair and makeup team home and now this is what I look like.” Only half of her face was done up!
3 Lawrence And Stone Can Be Completely Weird Together
Isn’t that just the best? When you can find a friend that you can be completely yourself with. Even if you want to be the weirdest person in the world, you know that your friend is probably just as weird or they at least accept your weirdness. During an interview with W Magazine, they laid out just how weird they are together. Emma Stone stated,
“Do you understand that spending time with us is just us sitting and screaming at each other?”
While Jennifer Lawrence added, “We just scream at each other. We're both hoarse after we hang out — us, oh my God. I can't imagine what it must be like for other people. We should never hang out, only with each other.” We can’t even picture it, but it’s definitely a funny story.
2 These Two Bonded Over Their Love Of Turtles
Doesn’t your heart just melt over that. We all have childhood experiences that have stuck with us until adulthood and these two celebrities are no different. Losing a pet at a young age can be a very difficult experience. Both Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence lost pet turtles when they were young.
These turtles hit the road and never looked back.
If only they had stayed, those turtles would be living the Hollywood lifestyle. Walking the red carpet and maybe even wearing matching outfits. The two stars have bonded over their childhood tales of how their turtles ran away from home. We can just imagine how heartbreaking it is and these two were clearly meant to be friends. Maybe they can get more turtles that can be best friends.
1 They Don’t Ever Want To Be Separated
Doesn’t it look like Jennifer Lawrence is storming off while Emma Stone is saying the lyrics from the Mötley Crüe song, "Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away).” This photo is from the Governor’s Awards where Lawrence photobombed Stone while she was getting her photo taken. The two fooled around for a bit in front of the cameras before she left. It looks like Stone is laughing and saying, “wait don’t go.”
It doesn’t seem to matter where the two end up, they manage to find something to laugh about.
Rather than compete with one another over big roles, they became best friends through text message and bonded over a common stalker and love for turtles. There’s no doubt about it, these two are #friendshipgoals for life and we can’t wait to see the hilarious things they get up to next. Here's hoping they do a movie together!
