The release date for the 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die, has been pushed back twice due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The film was initially scheduled to be released in April of this year, but it was pushed back to November. Earlier this month, however, it was announced that No Time to Die won't be released until Apr. 2, 2021.
According to a report from Bloomberg, Netflix and Apple were among the streaming services that pondered the idea of landing the rights for No Time to Die.
Citing "insiders at rival studios", Variety followed up on Bloomberg's report and explained there was belief that MGM "was at least open to the possibility of unloading" No Time to Die. The report stated that MGM was eyeing "a deal of roughly $600 million", which was apparently " too rich for two of the free-spending streaming services."
A spokesperson for MGM wouldn't comment on the rumors to Bloomberg, simply stating that No Time to Die is "is not for sale." Sources also told Variety that delays in the No Time to Die release have led to MGM losing "between $30 and $50 million."
But at this point, it looks like fans of the Bond series will have to wait another five months before the film is released.

As previously noted, No Time to Die marks the milestone 25th film in the Bond series. Daniel Craig, who'll portray 007 for the fifth time, previously stated that this will be his final outing as Bond.
Craig's replacement hasn't been decided yet, according to Bond film series producer Barbara Broccoli.
No Time to Die reportedly had a budget of $250 million. The film also stars Rami Malek as Safin, the main villain, Léa Seydoux (Dr. Madeleine Swann), Lashana Lynch and (Nomi). Ben Whishaw (Q), Naomie Harris (Eve Moneypenny), Christoph Waltz (Ernst Stavro Blofeld), Jeffrey Wright (Felix Leiter), Ralph Fiennes (M) and Rory Kinnear (Bill Tanner) will reprise their roles.
