Nicole Kidman is one of the crown jewels of Hollywood. She is an Australian-American actress with an impeccable film resume. Kidman has won countless awards ranging from Oscars to Emmys to Golden Globes.

The Upside (2017)

Bryan Cranston, Nicole Kidman, and Kevin Hart star in this uplifting comedy film released earlier this year. In total, the film made $122 million at the box office. It is a remake of a 2011 film known as The Intouchables.

The movie follows Cranston's character, a paralyzed billionaire, who hires Kevin Hart's character, a recently paroled convict, to take care of him. The two form a surprising and unlikely friendship. Kidman plays Philip's (Cranston), personal assistant. The movie received mixed reviews from film critics but given the movie's star power, it did well theatrically after its premiere at TIFF two years ago.

Days of Thunder (1990)

This 1990 movie starred Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise, and Robert Duvall. Cruise plays Cole Trickle, a NASCAR driver who knows very little about the sport overall. But despite a difficult rookie debut, Cole eventually finds his way in the world with the help of a used car salesman that serves as his coach.

When Days of Thunder was released, it was at the height of Tom Cruise's popularity and the beginning of his relationship with Nicole Kidman. Days of Thunder raked in $157 million worldwide.

The Interpreter (2005)

Nicole Kidman stars alongside Sean Penn and Catherine Keener in this tense political thriller. She plays Sophia Frome, an interpreter for the United Nations who unwittingly discovers an assassination plot.

She overhears a death threat against an African head of state and does her best to stop the assassination from being carried out. But her intel leads to her becoming a suspect. The film made $162.9 million at the worldwide box office.

Cold Mountain (2003)

Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Renée Zellweger, Eileen Atkins, Brendan Gleeson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Natalie Portman, and Donald Sutherland star in this epic war film released in 2003. The movie did extremely well at the overall box office with it earning $173 million on a $79 million budget.

The movie is based on a 1997 novel. It made the rounds on the award circuit and was considered a sleeper hit in 2003 since it steadily increased its profits during its theatrical run and made back a surprising amount of money. The story follows Jude Law's character, W.P. Inman, who deserts the Confederate Army so he can try and make it home to greet the woman he is in love with, Ada Monroe (Kidman).

The Others (2001)

The Others is one of Nicole Kidman's most popular movies, especially if you're a fan of scary movies. It is still considered to be one of the scariest ghost stories ever told. Kidman was nominated for a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Grace Stewart. Grace lives in a remote country home where she takes care of her children with a rare disease that makes them extremely susceptible to the light.

Grace and her kids begin to realize there is something very strange going on in the house and they come to believe it is haunted. The Others is extremely tense and suspenseful. The film has been referenced many times in pop culture including being spoofed in the Scary Movie franchise. It made $209 million at the box office.

Just Go With It (2011)

Just Go With It is a romantic-comedy that co-stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. Nicole Kidman plays a supporting role in the movie. Given how popular Adam Sandler comedies are, it was a given the movie would perform well at the box office, especially with Jennifer Aniston also involved.

Despite its excellent performance at the B.O., critics weren't as fond of the film. It was even nominated for a couple of Golden Raspberry Awards. Overall it made $214 million worldwide.  Kidman portrays the role of Devlin Adams, the real ex of main character Danny (Sandler).

Paddington (2014)

In the live-action story of the beloved Paddington Bear, who is voiced by Ben Winshaw in the film, Nicole Kidman plays the antagonist character Doctor Millicent. Her character is a taxidermist that wants to capture Paddington and add him to her collection.

It's not too surprising that the film did so well at the box office considering how beloved the character is and the movie was critically acclaimed. It also stars actors like Julie Walters, Sally Hawkins, and Jim Broadbent. Paddington wound up making more than $268 million worldwide.

Batman Forever (1995)

A lot of people forget that Nicole Kidman starred in the 1995 superhero film, Batman Forever, produced by Tim Burton. She didn't play a superhero role herself but she did play a psychologist and love interest for Bruce Wayne named Dr. Chase Meridian. Given the movie was a superhero movie, it's no surprise it raked in a fortune at the box office with a grand total of $336 million worldwide.

This particular Batman movie has a pretty busy plot. It follows Val Kilmer as the caped crusader as he tries to put a stop to The Riddler (Jim Carrey) and to Harvey Dent "Two-Face" (Tommy Lee Jones). The villains hatch a nefarious scheme to uncover Batman's identity once and for all.

Happy Feet (2006)

The animated feature, Happy Feet, made nearly $400 million at the box office and launched its own franchise. The adorable film was a hit with critics and audiences alike. It made the rounds on the awards circuit, even receiving the Academy Award for Best Animated Picture.

Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Brittany Murphy, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Hugo Weaving, and Steve Irwin round out the cast of the film. In the world of Happy Feet, penguins have beautiful singing voices to attract mates. But poor Mumble can't hold a tune. He can, however, dance like a pro.

Aquaman (2018)

Despite being one of her most recent movies, Aquaman is also Nicole Kidman's most successful financially. The film made more than $1 billion at the box office and Aquaman, along with Wonder Woman before it, helped change the reputation of the DC live-action universe with critical acceptance.

Jason Momoa plays the title role of Arthur Curry/Aquaman and Amber Heard portrays Queen Mera. Kidman plays Arthur's mother, Atlanna, the Queen of Atlantis.
