Earlier this year, Robert Pattison was announced as the next actor to play Batman. Pattison, who became famous thanks to the Twilight franchise, will replace Ben Affleck after three movies. As of this writing, Robert Pattison will be the 9th actor to wear the mask of the Dark Knight.

Batman is one of the most iconic of DC Comics and was created in 1939 by Bob Kane and Bill Finger. His popularity attracted the attention of some producers, who wanted to adapt the storyline to the television.  Batman became a successful movie franchise after the version of the director Christofer Nolan. Before that, there were other attempts, some very successful and good enough to become a classic, others that people involved in the production would prefer to forget. Lewis G. Wilson was the first actor to wear the Batman suit on television in 1943. He was 23 years old, which makes him the youngest actor cast for the role. Batman was a TV show with 15 episodes produced by Columbia. It was the least successful version of the character and there are not much information online about the production.

The show was slammed by the critics, especially Wilson, who was considered too overweight to be the hero. He died in 2000, at the age of 97. There is no precise information about his net worth, but some sources affirm it was around $850.000.

Robert Lowery - Unknown

Robert Lowery was the second actor to play the hero in the movie Batman and Robin, in 1949. Unlike what it happen to Lewis G. Wilson, the critics liked his performance. Lowery was already an experienced actor and had been on movies like The Mark Of Zorro, The Mummy's Ghost, and Dangerous Passage. He was 36 years old when he was cast for the role.

Although the critics liked him, it was the only time he played the character in movies. But in 1956 he appeared as Batman in The Adventures of Superman as a guest. There is currently no information about his net worth available.

Robert Pattinson will be the next actor to star as Batman, with his first movie as the Dark Knight set to be released on June 2021. But he was furious when the news made the headlines before he or his team had a say.

"When that thing leaked I was [f-ing] furious," Pattinson said. "Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing." Pattinson, who became famous thanks to Twilight, currently has a net worth evaluated on $100 million and this may increase after his upcoming superhero movie.
