The Batman is still more than a year away from being released, but fan excitement is growing as more blockbuster casting decisions continue to come in.
Last week, following ongoing rumors and reports, Jeffrey Wright was finally cast as Commissioner Gordon. This news came several weeks after Zoe Kravitz was confirmed as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler.
Throw them in with Robert Pattinson as Batman/Bruce Wayne, and Matt Reeves' upcoming film is looking extremely promising behind a star-studded cast. And yet another major name might be coming aboard.
According to WeGotThisCovered.com, Warner Bros. is "eyeing Matthew McConaughey for Two-Face/Harvey Dent." The report outlined that the Dazed and Confused and The Wedding Planner star is only "one name on the wishlist," but this is certainly something to keep an eye on.
Pressure is on Reeves and Warner Bros. to put together a successful Batman film, because the last two - which starred Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader - received plenty of negative reviews. Adding McConaughey to a tremendous cast would certainly be a wise move by the studio, if he'd be willing to give it the chance.
Aside from Jones, Harvey Dent/Two-Face was portrayed by Aaron Eckhart in The Dark Knight (2008). Though he was killed off at the end of the film, the Dent character played a key role of the plot in The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
Carrey is the only person to have portrayed Riddler in a live theatrical film, while both Selina Kyle/Catwoman (played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway) and Two-Face have been performed twice apiece. We'll find out soon enough if there will be a third for Two-Face, and if the lucky man to take the role will be McConaughey.
