According to Justin Kroll of Variety (h/t the Hindustan Times), Hill wants $10 million for the upcoming Batman film. Per Kroll, Pattinson isn't even making half of Hill's reported price tag.
It's been widely reported that Hill would either play The Riddler or Penguin for The Batman, which is slated for a 2021 release. Jeffrey Wright has also been linked to the Commissioner Gordon role, though nothing has been officially announced.
Hill is one of the most sought-after comedy actors in all of Hollywood, and he would most certainly nail the role of either Penguin or Riddler - neither of whom appeared in the Christopher Nolan trilogy nor any of the two films that starred Ben Affleck.
Danny DeVito is the last person to portray Penguin in a live action film (1992), in the Tim Burton blockbuster Batman Returns (1992) that saw Micheal Keaton portray the Dark Knight. Michelle Pfeiffer portrayed Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and Christopher Walken portrayed villainous businessman Max Shreck.
As for Riddler, the character hasn't appeared on the big screens in a live film since 1995, when Jim Carrey portrayed him in Batman Forever. There were rumors that Johnny Depp would star as Riddler in the final Nolan Batman film, but that obviously never came to fruition.
Affleck portrayed the World's Greatest Detective in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017). Affleck was slated to write/direct the upcoming film, but he wound up resigning.
The last two Batman films met plenty of negative reviews from countless film critics and DC Universe fans. But if they manage to get Hill on board to perform as the main villain for The Batman, then the filmmakers will be in tremendously good hands.
