DC Comics makes an average of $224 million per movie release in tickets alone. But their real meal ticket is merchandise which is a $4.5 billion a year industry and it’s all thanks to their actors who give life to the characters on the screen.

So of course, they thank their cash cows with big fat checks of their own. Although not all of them make their money from their franchises, it doesn’t make their net worth’s any less interesting. If you’d like to how rich can you get from playing a superhero, here are 10 DC actors who are the richest.

Gal Gadot ($10 million)

Gadot’s best known for being in The Fast and The Furious series in which, let's be honest, she wasn’t cast for her acting abilities, as Wonder Woman, however, she kicked ass (literally). The only reason she’s bottom of our list is that she’s the newest member of the DC Universe.

But her value is sure to rise over the coming years. With, such an iconic and recognizable role to play, Princess Diana of Themyscira and her timeless franchise isn’t going anywhere. Especially when the rumors are that the next Wonder Woman movie is scheduled for a June 5, 2020 release.

Margot Robbie ($12 million)

Robbie first became popular for her red-hot performance in The Wolf of Wall Street, as the main character’s seductive wife. She brought her enticing look and added a bucket of crazy to her role as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, making a very compelling character. Unfortunately, like Gadot, she’s still relatively new to the DC Comic Universe which is the only reason why she has only racked up $12 million. Margot will be catching up soon however, with the next Suicide Squad (Birds of Prey) due to release in 2021, she will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Jason Momoa ($14 million)

Aquaman racked up an astounding $1 billion at the box office, making it the highest-grossing DC Comics film ever released. Which is why it’s such a surprise Momoa isn’t swimming in cash right now. It could be because Aquaman just recently became a recognized leading hero (thanks to him). But he doesn’t seem to mind having to build his character up into a bonafide hero, while he enjoys his $14 million. But some of that total is also due to his role in Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo (even though he wasn’t on the show very long).

Henry Cavill ($20 million)

Cavill was in three Superman films as well as played the villain in Mission: Impossible-Fallout. So it’s surprising to see his net worth. Until he stated in an interview that you’ve got to enjoy life! When he is making money, he wants to spend it on nice things, whether that be lavish vacations for him and his friends or simply seeing something in a shop window and deciding to buy it because he likes it. He says he enjoys spending money on friends, buying drinks and dinner for everyone, and making everyone feel cared for. He said that he really enjoys the feeling he gets from doing things for those he cares about.

Amy Adams ($60 Million)

Amy Adams may have been passed over for an Academy Award time and time again but it seems these losses didn’t dampen her spirits as she worked herself up to an impressive net worth. She even landed the role of Lois Lane in Man of Steel and is even venturing into television. However, it seems the DC Comics Universe is not done with her being Superman’s sweetheart anytime soon. Man of Steel 2 is currently in development. This news is confirmed by Amy Adams herself saying, “I know they’re working on the script, and I know it’s in the works apparently.”

Robin Wright ($65 Million)

Robin Wright is every bit the queen she portrays on screen in Wonder Woman as she is in real life (even surpassing her on-screen daughter by over $50 million). However, most of her money came from decades of A-lister status from some of her most iconic roles such as Princess Buttercup in The Princess Bride and Jenny in Forrest Gump. Both household staples in everyone’s movie collection.

So it seems whatever little money she got from DC Comics is just a drop in her bucket in comparison. Although the Amazonian Queen is only a supporting role, she makes this list.

Russell Crowe ($95 million)

Russell Crowe has earned his spot at number four with his list of movies a mile long. With films such as Master and Commander and Gladiator, he has been an A-lister for three decades. But what puts him on this list is his role as Jor-El in Man of Steel. Like Robin Wright, he’s another cinema legend with a supporting role but no role is minor with these superstars. Russell Crowe has also been investing his money wisely over the years, one of his investments making him the most money is a rugby team called the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Ben Affleck ($130 million)

Affleck as Batman has been debated as a good or bad decision by many. However, everyone can agree that his superstar status helped elevate the franchise up a level. Batman vs Superman probably wouldn’t have been nearly as successful without his name on the posters. But to Ben, it was just another winner to add to his long list of successful movies (such as Argo and Smokin Aces) which have all been a large part of his amazing net worth. The rest is made up from his work as a director, writer, and producer on movies such as The Town.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson ($280 Million)

Before Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson turned 30, he had achieved everything he could have hoped for as a wrestler with the WWE, becoming a household name in the process. Then he came to Hollywood and has ruled ever since. Starting with The Fast Five, he now has a wide range of blockbuster hits from voice acting as Maui in Moana to being a producer on his show Ballers where he also acts. What brings him to our list is his recent deal with the DC Universe to do a Black Adam film and of course his imminent return in Shazam! 2.

Will Smith ($300 million)

Smith has been a rapper, a comedian, and now he’s even a YouTube star. Ever since he started as an actor on The Fresh Prince of Bel-air, Will has been a powerhouse of talent that never stops. Expanding his acting career from television onto the big screen in movies such as Men in Black and I Am Legend. He made number one on our list when he became the anti-hero Deadshot in Suicide Squad and is one of the biggest names on the screen. We won’t be seeing him in Suicide Squad 2 but hopefully, he returns to the DC Universe someday.
