Original Sin - $26.2 Million

The steamy, erotic-thriller was released a few years after Jolie had already asserted herself in the entertainment industry, but it still remains one of the most controversial films in history. Original Sin, also starring Antonio Banderas, follows the marriage of Julia and Luis and the dangerous effects of desire, greed, and murder.

While the film received poor reviews, Jolie's performance was still praised and the film grossed $26.2 million at the box-office. In addition, the movie now has a cult following.

Alexander -$49.5 Million

The 2004 epic-historical drama film not only featured Jolie but other well-known actors in the industry. Alexander featured the talents of Colin Farrell, Val Kilmer, Rosario Dawson, Jared Leto, and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

The film retells the tale of the Macedonian King, Alexander the Great, portrayed by Ferrell. Jolie played Queen Olympias, Alexander's mother and the driving force behind all of his decisions. While the film grossed $49.5 million at the box office, the critical reception of the film was poor, with many historians pointing out the historical inaccuracy of the movie.

Changeling - $44.6 Million

Regarded as the film that truly showed Jolie's versatility as an actress, Changeling was not only a box-office success but also landed Jolie's first Oscar win. The film follows the true story of Christine Collins, played by Jolie, whose son goes missing.

When the child is returned to her, she realizes it isn't her son and is condemned by the public media as an unfit mother. The harrowing tale which also stars John Malkovich and Jeffrey Donovan, received positive reviews and grossed $44.8 million at the box office.

Girl, Interrupted - $51.3 Million

In 1999, the psychological-thriller Girl, Interrupted was released and established Jolie as a highly sought-after actress. The film, based on the memoir of the same-name by Susanna Kaysen, depicts life at a women's mental institution. Susanna, played by actress Winona Ryder, is admitted to the mental institution by her parents after she overdoses and befriends the sociopath, Lisa Rowe, played by Jolie, who has a negative effect on Susanna.

The film received mixed-reviews but grossed $51.3 million and also landed Jolie her first Academy-Award nomination for best-supporting actress.

Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow - 54.5 Million

This action-adventure film featured the age-old battle between humans and robots and features an ensemble cast, including Jolie. Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow stars Jude Law as "Sky Captain" who joins forces with his former love, Polly Perkins, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, to try and defeat the robots that have attacked New York City.

Jolie plays Commander Franky Cook, another one of Joe's old girlfriends and the commander of a Royal Navy aircraft carrier. The film was highly praised for its visual effects but received mixed reviews from critics. Nonetheless, the movie grossed $54.5 million at the box-office.

The Bone Collector -$117.9 Million

What happens when you bring together veteran actor, Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, and throw in the mix a heart-pounding thriller with a lot of twist and turns? You get the 1999 crime thriller, The Bone Collector, based on the crime novel of the same name by Jeffrey Deaver. Washington plays the paralyzed forensics expert, Lincoln Rhyme, that recruits Amelia Donaghy, played by Jolie, to help catch a serial killer that takes the bones of his victims.

The movie received mixed reviews but grossed $117 million at the box-office and developed a cult-following.

Wanted - $168 Million

James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman team up with Jolie in this fast-paced action thriller that was released in 2008. Wanted follows the story of unhappy account manager, Wesley Gibson, who discovers that he actually the son of a professional assassin who he is told was allegedly murdered.

Gibson joins his father's secret society called The Fraternity in hopes to avenge his father's death. The film was a box-office success, having grossed $168 million and received positive reviews.

Lara Croft Tomb Raider -$208.2 Million

Many actors/actresses are associated with one particular role, for Ms. Jolie, that role would be Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider franchise. Jolie starred in Lara Craft Tomb Raider in 2001, which also categorized Jolie as an action star. The film which was based on the video game series, followed the titular character trying to uncover artifacts from the Illuminati.

When the film was released, it had the highest opening that weekend and overall grossed, 208.2 million at the box office. The movie received mixed reviews, but Jolie's portrayal of Craft was highly praised.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith - $261.2 Million

In film industry, there will always be certain movies remembered more for what went on behind-the-scenes than the actual film itself. Mr. & Mrs. Smith is one of those movies. Besides being a box-office success and showcasing the talent of the film's two main stars; it is also launched one of the biggest cheating scandals that is still debated upon till this day. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie starred as husband and wife duo that are unaware of their spouses' true job detail: assassins.

During the time the movie was being filmed, Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Aniston, but the couple divorced shortly after the movie was released and soon Pitt and Jolie were spotted vacationing together. It wasn't long after that when the infamous "Brangelina" was born and after 14 years together, the couple split in 2019.

Kung Fu Panda - $269.1 Million

Jolie joined fellow A-listers, Jack Black, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, and Jackie Chan by lending her voice talents as Master Tigress in the Dreamworks Animation film, Kung Fu Panda. The movie follows a panda named Po, voiced by Black, who unwittingly becomes the "Dragon Warrior", a kung-fu warrior destined to bring balance to the world.

The movie was a critical and commercial success, grossing $269.1 million at the box-office, and launched two more successful films in the franchise, in which Jolie reprised her role as Tigress.
