She has way more nominations, though, and she's definitely proved her worth to Hollywood, and pretty much the rest of the world. 10 Darkman (1990) - $33.8 million

This sci-fi action thriller stars Liam Neeson and Frances McDormand. When a scientist is left for dead after a group of gangsters attempt to burn him to death, he seeks out revenge. This scientist, Peyton Westlake, produces synthetic skin, and he is able to become anyone at anytime in his quest for revenge. The catch, though, is that the skin degrades after 100 minutes of sunlight, so he only has so much time in each disguise. This movie sounds pretty creepy, and it kind of is, but it has a good cast, so you might as well give it a go to see the brilliant Frances McDormand.

9 Mississippi Burning (1988) - $34.6 million

This crime drama follows two F.B.I. agents as they head to Mississippi to investigate the disappearance of a civil rights activists. This film takes place in the '60s, and tells an incredible story about civil rights in a time of segregation. Also, these two agents, Gene Hackman and Willem Dafoe, have vastly different strategies, and this makes for a pretty enthralling film. Of course, Frances McDormand is also a main character, so we definitely recommend this crime classic.

8 Moonrise Kingdom (2012) - $45.5 million

This drama/romantic comedy is definitely a classic tale of youth. When two young lovers flee their small town, a search party ensues to find them. However, they're too busy on a wild adventure. This movie is Academy nominated, and is quite honestly one of the most timeless tales of young love. With Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, and Frances McDormand, this movie is also directed by the brilliant Wes Anderson. Yeah, this one deserves a rewatch.

7 Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017) - $54.5 million

It's hard to believe this film was already two years ago. A the Academy Awards, we think every single person there, and every person on their couches at home, gave this amazing woman a standing ovation when she accepted her Oscar for Best Leading Actress. This movie follows a mother (McDormand) as she takes matters into her own hands and challenges the local authorities in her small town, after her daughter's murder, and after there have been no leads on a suspect. With Sam Rockwell and Woody Harrelson, this movie is honest, heart-wrenching, heart-warming, and all around an incredible tale.

6 Primal Fear (1996) - $56.1 million

This film is also one of our all-time favorite crime dramas. Richard Gere plays a defense lawyer, who takes on the case of an altar boy who is charged with brutally murdering a priest. Frances McDormand plays a psychologist, who meets repeatedly with the young man, and slowly discovers that something isn't exactly right with Aaron. This movie received many award nominations, and it'll honestly keep you on the edge of your seat with crime drama, romance, and murder. Oh yeah, if you like movies with twist endings, this one is definitely for you.

5 Burn After Reading (2008) - $60.3 million

This comedy crime drama has a stellar cast - starring the brilliant Brad Pitt, Frances McDormand, and George Clooney. If that wasn't enough, it was also directed by the masterful Coen Brothers. When two gym employees come across a mysterious disk containing confidential CIA information, these interesting characters do everything they can to sell it. This movie is quirky and dramatic, and we definitely suggest you tune in for a crime classic with amazing acting and directing talent.

4 The Good Dinosaur (2015) - $123.1 million

It's no secret that animated family movies do well at the box office. It's also no secret that this movie made every single person ever blubber like a baby in the theater (and you're lying if you said you didn't). What you might not have known, though, is that the wonderful Frances McDormand is actually the voice behind Momma, the mom dinosaur (obviously). This movie is honestly an incredible story of adventure, and it's also one of the most heartfelt kid movies we've seen in a long time. Go re-watch it, or do yourself a favor and watch it for the first time.

3 Something's Gotta Give (2003) - $124.7 million

This classic romantic comedy stars Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeve, and Frances McDormand. This film follows a senior male, who typically dates young women, as he beings to fall in love with a brilliant, senior female. This movie has a love triangle, incredible actors, and a quirky and heartfelt story. If you haven't seen it already, you better be adding it to your list.

2 Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012) - $216.4 million

Of course, animated films also tend to bring in quite an impressive amount of cash. In this film, with our favorite African animals, they join a European circus to get back to New York. However, they're pursued by a crazy animal control officer (insert Frances McDormand here). This movie actually becomes way funnier when you know this amazing woman is the voice behind that wild animal control officer. Yeah, we know you're going to go and re-watch it.

1 Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) - $352.4 million

Before we got the new Mark Wahlberg franchise of these Autobots, we all remember the classic trilology with Shia LaBeouf, right? Of course we do, but do you remember that in the third one, that Frances McDormand playing Mearing? Well, we do, and this blockbuster film franchise definitely made the most money out of all of her movies (even if it isn't the best one). Still, who doesn't love alien robots and a fight between the Autobots and the Decepticons? Plus, this cast is stellar.
