10 Restaurants You're Most Likely To Run Into A Celebrity

best restos to see celebs

When it comes to cool life experiences, meeting a celebrity may be one of the coolest. Yet believe it or not, there are many ways for a person to spot a celebrity without downloading an app, paying expensive VIP concert tickets or becoming the paparazzi! If you live on the right side of town, a celebrity sighting can be as simple as being in the right place at the right time.

One of my most unforgettable life experiences was noticing IMG fashion model Yasmin Warsame while walking in downtown Toronto. Not to mention crossing paths with the previous MTV News host Sway in Los Angeles, or seeing Jessica Simpson's mother on Collins Avenue during the 2005 MTV Awards in South Beach. While some celebrities try and hide, I was still able to notice celebs such as R&B singer Musiq Soulchild in Atlanta while he was wearing a hat and a dark pair of sunglasses. It can be awful if you run into a celebrity, but it's in an awkward environment or one that is crunched for time. I saw Michael Ealy near Central Park in New York City but I was on a bus! That’s what I call being at the right place at the wrong time.

One thing that is true of any celebrity, is that they like to eat. As a result, there are many restaurants that are known to be popular among the rich and famous. So whether you are a die-hard foodie or enjoy trying out new restaurants while traveling, here are the top 10 most reputable restaurants you are most like to see a celebrity.

When it comes to places in Canada that may be occupied by celebrities, Vancouver may be the first one to come to mind. So when people think of Toronto, it may be the last place on the map that you'd expect to see a celebrity. Well, you might want to think again. Taylor Swift left the Soho House one night in 2013 in a trendy trench coat photographed alongside Brendon Thwaite. Perhaps Taylor Swift tweeted about it, because arguably the top actress in Hollywood, Jennifer Lawrence has also stopped in. As did Emily Blunt who enjoyed a night of fun at this restaurant during the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Toronto has the advantage of hosting events such as TIFF, which is when most American celebrities will be seen in the lovely city of Toronto walking up and down the downtown streets looking for entertainment.

9 Fring's (Toronto, Ontario)

Drake is from Toronto, so it should not be shocking that his first Canadian restaurant (Fring's) is located in Toronto.  It may have been opened last October but has already attracted a few California natives such as Serena Williams, Will and Jaden Smith. The fashion stylist Jenna Bitove has also been seen around Drake in the past as well.

As the global ambassador of the Toronto Raptors, Drake can guarantee NBA players and many of his friends in the industry to pass by for a bite of the restaurant's signature homemade Ricotta. Although you can think twice if you believe you can just walk right into Fring's, the restaurant is currently on a reservation only basis. Enjoy and good luck! You just might bump into a celebrity and that may make it worth the wait.

On the outside, Casa Tua looks like a low key Miami Beach style low rise condominium building. Inside is a picturesque hotel and restaurant some of the most attractive red carpet entertainers have been seen. Jennifer Lopez is a frequent guest at this restaurant as are Kate Bosworth, New York Yankees MBA player Alex Rodriguez and Naomi Campbell have also been spotted enjoying a night out at Casa Tua. Once you walk inside, it is clear that you are in the right place to meet luxury. The interior design makes you feel like you are at home with a personal touch of privacy. Step outside in the back and the dim lit lanterns that decorate the trees will help put your mind at ease.

If you want to meet celebrities, perhaps look no further than the city of Miami. The Sunshine State has seen its fair share of NBA players, top models, rappers and designers, among other prominent members of society! It can be easy to see with the beach and night life, why Florida has been a great spot to find international celebrities for decades. The Café Martorano is known as one of the best restaurants in the area, and has seen Jimmy Kimmel, Kim Kardashian, NBA coach Pat Riley, Shaquille O’Neal and actress Gabrielle Union among others dine there.  Steve Martorano was a DJ before starting the outstanding restaurant. Martorano stated that he opened the restaurant with the dream of creating a lifestyle for himself that would make his parents proud. Now local restaurants and fans dine at this spot for Italian food and a chance to  glance at some of Hollywood’s top entertainers.

When you look on the website for the Hakkasan restaurant, the first words are “Upon arrival, guests are greeted by an entrance enveloped in shades of blue signature to the brand, ambient sounds, scents and lighting, creating a relaxed atmosphere.” When relaxation and atmosphere are such a priority, it clearly makes sense why celebrities are drawn to eating and partying at this place. Although Hakkasan restaurant has a list of multiple locations throughout the world, is there any place quite like Vegas? A night out on the town and a taste of the delicious food at this surreal restaurant has caught the interest of many celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Gwen Stefani, Camilla Belle and Jessica Alba. It is also located inside of the infamous MGM Grand Hotel and Casino off of Las Vegas Boulevard, which makes it a perfect location to help start out an amazing (albeit expensive) night.

They say what happens in Las Vegas, stays in Las Vegas, but if you spot one of your favorite celebs out on the town, it is very hard to keep that a secret (especially when it's so easy to tweet). The Giada restaurant is located inside of The Cromwell hotel and has been the place where celebrities of all kinds to come and eat. Model Tyson Beckford, Shania Twain and even chef Guy Ferrari have eaten there. The restaurant is owned by the Emmy award winning celebrity Chef Giada De Laurentiis. Night owls will enjoy this spot with its anytime menu as well as desserts and snacks served 24 hours a day. For a city that never sleeps, you may not find a better suited location than Giada.

The next stop ladies and gentlemen along the celebrity tour keeps us in New York City. This Californian eclectic Chateau Marmont restaurant has served Julia Roberts' niece Emma Roberts, model turned TV personality Christine Teigen, Eva Mendes and UK Pop star Rita Ora. It's clearly a great location, as many celebrities are seen leaving at night alongside some of their famous friends. Don’t let the bourgeois name fool you, a pair of jeans and heels and a casual outfit along with a comfortable pair of sneakers are acceptable to help you get through the front door. A late night dinner anywhere between midnight and 6:30am will surely fit in perfectly with a night on the town at one of Hollywood’s trendy night clubs. Just make sure you bring your HD camera and a pen for a celebrity signature that you will remember for a lifetime.
